Lesson Plan 2 - Sentences and Its Functions
I. Objectives
At the end of the discussion, the students should be able to:
a. Identify the four kinds of sentences according to function
b. Use the four kinds in a sentence
c. Construct kinds of sentences according to function

A. Preliminary Activities

B. Lesson Proper
1. Preparation/Motivation
Before the lesson starts, the teacher will group the students into
four. Then, each groups will be given a picture, and students will be
asked to put their selves in the shoes of the person in the picture.
*What sentences did you make? What punctuation did you use?
2. Presentation
The teacher presents the lesson “KINDS OF SENTENCES according to
function”
3. Discussion
The teacher will ask each group to present the sentences they’ve
made. The teachers then asks students to determine what kind of
sentence each group made, then followed by a brief discussion to
each kinds.
Group 1: Declarative sentence
A declarative sentence is a sentence that makes a
statement, provides a fact, offers an explanation, or conveys
information, and ends with a period. (.)
4. Generalization
To sum up the discussion, the teacher will ask the students to
identify the KINDS OF SENTENCE according to function.
5. Application
Ask random students to give an example of:
Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative and Exclamatory Sentences
IV. Evaluation
A. Write the letter of the correct answer.
