Software
• How to create a program with a
knowngood product?

• How to launch a program

• How to create a net list

• How to write a test list ?

• Make your program by your own

• Overview of the software

• Questions and answers

Page 46
The NetList
• Connector: The mating connector to the
product under test (PUT). Each connector on your
product must have a unique label (E.g. J1, J2,
J3,… etc.) (See Naming Conventions in the MPT
Command Reference for labeling limitations).

• Pin name: The connector pin at the

product under test. Each pin on each connector
must have a unique label (alpha or numeric).

• Test point: The test point at the front face

switching (The absolute address: 1 to the max
number of test points available).

• Net: A unique number for each set

of shorted test points.

• Order : The order the pin occurs in the

Net.

• Type: Simplex, Kelvin or component

connection

Page 47
The Net List - Component
• Simplex: Type = 1, for basic resistor measurement 2 wires

• Kelvin: Type = 2, for accurate resistor measurement

also named 4 wires

• Components :
» Type = 100 Resistors

» Type = 200 Capacitors (non-electrolytic)

» Type = 250 Capacitors ( electrolytic)

» Type = 300 Diodes unidirectionnal

» Type = 350 Diodes bidirectionnal

Auto-learn

• The system have the capability to

auto-learn a product.

– You can use a know-good product to

create a new netlist.

– The system is able to autodetect the

different points linked together and place
them in the CSV file.

– To use this command you have only to

set the continuity treshold (and
eventually a dweel).

Page 50

• Measurement / Stimulus Settings
– LV (MSR vs HCS)
– HV (AC or DC)

• Operator Input
– Hard code product data or prompt user to input

• Printing / Reporting
– Formated in lot of file, CSV, CDA, or DBF

• Compiling the Run List

– Select Compile from the pull down menu of the embedded text editor.

Page 52
TESTLIST command details

• MaxCommandErrors(0);
– 1 to 65000 Number of commands that can fail before program
aborts. 1 to 65000

– MCE(0); = off. (Default)

– The number of Command errors does not equal to the number

of Test errors. If your program runs the command conductor(all);,
and there are 5 opens in your product, Test errors equal 5, but
command errors equal 1

Page 53
TESTLIST command details

• SetPrintLog(on, all, con);

– Turns on or off the displaying, printing and logging of all data.

• Con = send result to the console (monitor)

– Could be send to other output, printer (PRN) , Exel file (CSV)

– Data logged to the Result File or Console are temporary! Each

subsequent test will overwrite results.

Page 54
Test settings

• Setconductor = The type of the test needed

• LV = LV is the instrument used for the test

it could be also HC for low voltage test.

• Pass < 5 Ohm = This values is the criteria of the test,

also named the PASS/FAIL values

• I = 100 mA = This is the current used during the test

Page 55
Test lauching

• Conductor = This is the type of the test needed

• ALL = Is the list of the point needed to be tested.

All is the command used to test all the
points of the netlist.
You can also use a NET name, a
TESPOINT name , a GROUPNAME , or a
CONNECTOR+PIN name.

Page 56
TESTLIST command details

To launch a tests you should have to create two lines , the first line is for
the test setting , the second line is to set the point which have to be
tested.

• Exemple : Thoses two lines are able to launch a continuity test

– Setconductor (LV , Pass < 5 ohm, I = 100 mA )

– Conductor(ALL)

Page 57

• Low voltages tests:

– Low voltage insulation test

• Setinsulation( Lv, pass > 4 Kohm , I = 100 mA );

– Capacitance(J1.1,J1.2);

– SetDiode(I=100 mA, Min=200 mV, Max=1000 mV, Rev=4 V, Leak < 10 uA);

– Diode (Both, J1.1, J1.2);

MASSHIPOT
•The mass hipot command is used to save time during High Voltage testing :

•Mass Hipot with a good Product

•This product have 15 net, in linear mode with a dwell = 60sec , the system
need 16 minuts to test.

•With the same net number and dwell=60sec, the system need 5 minuts to
test

• The operator screen is a simplified interface, to be used

by operators.
– On this screen you can only open a test program and
launch it.

– It is possible can also set two parameters:

• Debug LV: The test hold on any low voltage error

and open a windowswith the values of the error

• Stop on error: The test will be paused on any error
