1 INTRODUCTION

1 Introduction

The present document is a ‘Web-interface’ user manual for the ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ local prize
system.

The ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ local prize system is a functionally complete hardware-software system
which can unite up to 127 gaming machines installed in one gaming location and ensure online monitoring
of the equipment technical conditions.

The document provides System overview including basic principles of working with the ‘OCTA Jackpot
Controller’ and the description of the Web-interface main features.

The ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ system operates independently within the gaming location.

2 System Overview

‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ system structure is shown on illustration below.

‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ offers the following functions:


• Connect up to 127 gaming machines to Jackpot drawing;
• Draw up to 4 Mystery Progressive Jackpots simultaneously;
• Display current Jackpot value information on the Octavideo information sign;
• Inform players on Jackpot hit.

2.1 WEB-Interface Main Functionality

• ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ configuration;


• Online monitoring of the equipment operation.

2.2 User Roles and Rights

Depending on the respective access rights the System offers certain working WEB-interface sections and
functions. The table below shows the user roles and rights available in the System. User roles are assigned
by the WEB-site administrator.

3 WEB-Interface Description

Use standard WEB-browser for working with the WEB-interface. In the IP-address
row type http://1.5.1.1, to download the site.

NOTE
The workstation must be connected to the same network as the ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ and the
gaming machines.

3.1 Home Page

The ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ home page consists of two sections. The right section displays general
System information; the left section displays the main menu.

3.1.1 Main Menu

Depending on the user access rights the main menu can contain various links and options:

The sections and links can be as follows:


Main:
‘Current Status’ - opens the home page.
Reset:
‘Factory Reset’* - enables the user to reset all Jackpots to the ‘Not configured’ status without
clearing of the Jackpot history (for details see chapter 6.1. on page 38);
‘Reset all Jackpots’** - enables the user to reset all Jackpots to the ‘Not configured’ status (for details
see chapter 6.2 on page 39).
Configuration*:
‘Machines’ - enables to operate with the connected equipment (for details see chapter 4.3
on page 23);
‘Jackpots’ - enables to operate with the System Jackpots (for details see chapter 4.2
on page 16);
‘Settings’ - enables to set Jackpot drawing conditions (for details see chapter 4.1
on page 15).
Reports:
‘Paid Jackpots for period’
- displays the list of hit Jackpots within the reported period (for details
see chapter 5.3.1 on page 34);
‘Payout summary’ - displays the list of won Jackpot amounts from the beginning of the System
operation (for details see chapter 5.3.2 on page 35).

3.1.2 General System Information

INFORMATION
General System information is displayed on the Web-site home page.

3.1.2.1 Current Jackpot Values

The form displays the following information:


‘Jackpot’ - Jackpot name. The link opens the ‘View Jackpot Parameters’ form (for details
see chapter 4.2.3 on page 20);
‘Current Amount’ - Jackpot current value;
‘Hidden Amount’ - Jackpot contribution amount added to the Jackpot reset amount at every next
drawing. If the Jackpot has been hit in the previous game, field value is zero;
‘Start Amount’ - Jackpot start amount value;
‘Start Date’ - Jackpot drawing start date and time;
‘Total Bets’ - total amount of bets placed within Jackpot drawing;
‘Total Contributions’ - total amount of Jackpot contributions;
‘Contribution’ - calculated Jackpot contribution from bet amount.

3.1.2.2 Recently Paid Jackpots

The form displays the following information:


‘Jackpot’ - Jackpot name. The link opens the ‘View Jackpot Parameters’ form (for details
see chapter 4.2.3 on page 20);
‘Amount’ - Jackpot won amount;
‘Machine’ - ID number of the gaming machine. The link opens the ‘View Machine
Parameters’ form (for details see chapter 4.3.1.1 on page 24);
‘Start Amount’ - Jackpot start amount value;
‘Start Date’ - Jackpot drawing start date and time;
‘Total Bets’ - total amount of bets placed within Jackpot drawing;
‘Win Date’ - Jackpot hit date and time;
‘Total Contributions’ - total amount of Jackpot contributions;
‘Contribution’ - calculated Jackpot contribution from bet amount.

3.1.2.3 Machines Summary

The form displays the following information:


‘Machines in System’ - quantity of gaming machines registered in the system;
‘Machines Online’ - quantity of UCB devices connected to the system;
‘Responding Machines’ - quantity of gaming machines with the correct UCB data communication;
‘Minimum Participation Machines’
- minimal quantity of gaming machines required to start Jackpot drawing;
‘Actions’
- reset all UCB button.

3.1.2.4 Current Devices

The form displays the following information:


‘Machine / Sign’ - machine / informational sign ID number. The link opens the
‘View Machine/Sign Parameters’ form (for details see chapter 4.3.1.1
on page 24;
‘Status’:
- a checkbox showing whether the UCB is connected or not (for details
see chapter 5.1 on page 33);
- a checkbox showing whether the machine is connected to Jackpot Controller or
not;
‘S/N’ - machine serial number;
‘Vendor’ - vendor name;
‘MAC address’ - UCB or machine Mac Address (depends on the connection type);
‘Denomination’ - gaming machine credit denomination;
‘Actions’
- (reset UCB) button (available for the Administrator only) (for details
see chapter 5.2 on page 33).

NOTE
The amount of devices in the table cannot be greater than the amount of devices connected to the
system and displayed in the ‘License & information’ form. The equipment connected without licence
is not displayed. To view the equipment list follow: Main / Machines / List of Machines (for details
see chapter 4.3.1 on page 23).

4 Controller Configuration

To configure Jackpot Controller, follow these steps:


1) Set Jackpot drawing conditions (for details see chapter 4.1 on page 15);
2) Configure Jackpot parameters and activate Jackpots (for details see chapter 4.2 on page 16);
3) Connect UCB and add gaming machine information to the database (for details see chapter 4.3.3 on
page 27 and chapter 4.3.4 on page 31).

NOTE
After any configuration parameter is changed, reload configuration following the ‘Reload
configuration’ link in the upper part of the home page.
Configuration reloading can take several seconds.

4.1 Settings

Path: Main Menu / Configuration / Settings.


Function: Enables configuration settings.

‘Configuration Settings’:
‘Minimum Participating Machines’
- set minimal quantity of the gaming machines to start Jackpot drawing;
‘Currency symbol’ - set a currency designation symbol to be displayed on the WEB page;
‘Date and Time’: - set Jackpot Controller date and time.

4.2 Jackpots
4.2.1 Configure Jackpot Parameters

NOTE
To get started with Jackpot Controller, configure parameters of the Jackpots which have the ‘Not
configured’ status.

To configure Jackpot parameters, follow these steps:


1) Follow the ‘Jackpots’ link in the upper part of the screen to open the ‘List of Jackpots’ form.

2) In the ‘List of Jackpots’ click the respective button.

3) After the ‘Initial Jackpot Parameters’ form is displayed on the screen, set the desired values
and click .

INFORMATION
If after Jackpot controller is changed/reconfigured, it needs to continue Jackpot accumulation, the
user can set this value manually.

INFORMATION
The ‘Name’ and ‘Base Pct %’ fields are for information purposes only.

NOTE
The ‘Maximum Bet’ value must be greater or equal to the ‘Minimum Bet’ value, with exception when
‘Maximum Bet’ = 0. In this case ‘Minimum Bet’ can have any value.

INFORMATION
After any parameter is changed the respective alert message will be displayed in the upper part of
the screen.

4) Reload configuration following the ‘Reload configuration’ link in the upper part of the screen.

4.2.1.1 Activate / Deactivate Jackpot

To activate / deactivate Jackpot, follow these steps:


1) Set / remove the ‘Active’ checkmark.

2) Click , to confirm your changes.

INFORMATION
After any parameter is changed the respective alert message will be displayed in the upper part of
the screen.

3) Reload configuration following the ‘Reload configuration’ link in the upper part of the screen

4.2.2 List of Jackpots

Path: Main Menu / Configuration / Jackpots / List Of Jackpots.


Function: allows the user to view the list of all drawn Jackpots and set/change Jackpot parameters.

The form displays the following information:


‘Jackpot’ - Jackpot name;
‘Active’ - a checkbox showing whether the jackpot is drawing at the moment or not;
‘Current Amount’ - current Jackpot value;
‘Hidden Amount’ - current Jackpot Hidden value;
‘Contribution’ - Jackpot contribution value;
‘Actions’
- (Edit Jackpot) link-button leading to the ‘Update (Initial) Jackpot Parameters’
form (for details see chapter 4.2.3 on page 16).

4.2.3 View Jackpot Parameters

To view Jackpot parameters in detail, follow the sequence: Home Page / Current Jackpots Values / Jackpot
/ [Name] link. The link leads to the ‘View Jackpot Parameters’ form.

The form displays the following information:


‘Name’ - Jackpot name;
‘Reset Amount’ - minimal Jackpot amount value;
‘Max Amount’ - maximal Jackpot amount value;
‘Contribution %’ - default Jackpot contributions;
‘Hidden %’ - Jackpot contribution % added to the Jackpot reset amount at every next
drawing;
‘Base Pct. % - base contribution % (display-only field);
‘Minimum Bet’ - minimum allowed bet value required to participate in Jackpot drawing;
‘Maximum Bet’ - maximum allowed bet value required to participate in Jackpot drawing;
‘Active’ - a checkbox showing whether the Jackpot is drawing at the moment or not;
‘Winner movie repeat count’
- quantity of movie plays after Jackpot hit.

NOTE
All Jackpots have the ‘Not configured’ status by default. To update Jackpot parameters, use the
‘Update (Initial) Jackpot Parameters’ form (for details see chapter 4.2.3 on page 16).

4.2.4 Update Jackpot Parameters.

To update Jackpot parameters follows these steps:


1) Path: Main Menu / Jackpots / List of Jackpots / .

2) In the opened ‘Update Jackpot Parameters’ form change the desired values and click .

NOTE
The ‘Maximum Bet’ value must be greater or equal to the ‘Minimum Bet’ value, with exception when
‘Maximum Bet’ = 0. In this case ‘Minimum Bet’ can have any value.

INFORMATION
The (*) mark shows the changed value.

INFORMATION
The ‘Name’ and ‘Base Pct %’ fields are for information purposes only.

4.3 Machines
4.3.1 List of Machines

Path: Main Menu / Machines / List of Machines.


Function: Enables to view and edit machine parameters.

The form displays the following information and buttons:


‘Machine’ - gaming machine ID number;
‘Active’ - a sign showing whether the machine is enabled or not;
‘S/N’ - gaming machine serial number;
‘MAC address’ - UCB MAC address;
‘Vendor’ - gaming machine vendor name;
‘Denomination’ - gaming credit denomination.
‘Actions’:
- Edit Machine. Opens the ‘Update Machine Parameters’ form (for more details
see chapter 4.3.2 on page 26). The button is available for the ‘Administrator’
only;
- Reset Machine Active State. Disables machine from the System (reload
configuration is required);
- Set Machine Active. Disables machine from the System (reload configuration is
required);
- Delete Machine. Deletes machine from the System (reload configuration is
required).

4.3.2 View Machine Parameters

To view machine parameters in detail, follow this path: Home Page / List of Devices / Machine / [Name]
link;

The form displays the following information:


‘Machine’ - gaming machine ID number;
‘S/N’ - gaming machine serial number;
‘MAC address’ - UCB or machine Mac Address (depending on a connection type);
‘Vendor’ - name of the equipment manufacturer;
‘Denomination’ - gaming machine credit denomination;
‘Active’ - a checkbox showing whether the machine is enabled or not;
‘UCB Version’ - UCB Software version.

The lower part of the form displays event messages registered by the System in the last twenty-four hours.

4.3.3 View Sign Parameters

To view sign parameters in detail, follow this path: Home Page / List of Devices / Machine / [Name] link.

The form contains the following information:


‘Sign’ - informational sign ID number;
‘S/N’ - informational sign serial number;
‘MAC address’ - UCB or machine Mac Address (depending on the connection type);
‘Vendor’ - vendor name;
‘UCB Version’ - SW version downloaded on UCB.

The lower part of the form displays event messages registered by the System in the last twenty-four hours.

4.3.4 Update Machine Parameters

To update machine parameters, follow these steps:


1) In the ‘List of Machines’ select the desired machine and click the respective (Edit Machine)
button.
2) After the ‘Update Machine Parameters’ form is displayed on the screen, set the desired parameter
values and click to confirm.

3) Reset machine UCB following the button (for details see chapter 5.2 on page 33).

INFORMATION
After any parameter is changed the respective alert message will be displayed in the upper part of
the screen.

4) Reload configuration following the ‘Reload configuration’ link.

4.3.5 Import Machine

INFORMATION
Some models of the gaming machines can be auto-determinated in the System after UCB is
connected.
In this case the respective informational message will be displayed in the upper part the screen (see
illustration below). Information about the auto-determinated equipment will be displayed in the
‘Other connected devices’ form with the ‘Ready for import’ status.

INFORMATION
If, for some reason, the System cannot determine the connected machine, the equipment will
acquire the ‘Unknown’ status. In such a case the ‘Import machine’ link is not available.

To resolve such a situation, follow these steps:


1) Reset UCB using the button.
2) Wait until UCB transmits information to the System and the status is changed for ‘Ready for import’.

NOTE
After the gaming machine is connected wait for a minute until it is auto-determinated in the system.

3) If the status remains ‘Unknown’ check if the UCB – Machine connection is set correctly and repeat
steps 1-2.

INFORMATION
To open the list of machines auto-determinated in the System, follow the ‘Import Machines’ link (the
link is available for the ‘Administrator’ only). The link opens the ‘Import Machine List’ (for details see
chapter 4.3.3.1 on page 29).

4.3.5.1 Import Machine List

Path: Main Menu / Import Machines.


Function: Enables to view and add new auto-determinated machines to the database.

The form displays the following information and options:


Checkbox - a checkbox to select the desired gaming machines;
‘Machine’ - gaming machine ID number;
- a button to update field value automatically.
‘S/N’ - gaming machine serial number;
‘MAC address’ - UCB or machine Mac Address (depending on the connection type);
‘Vendor’ - vendor name;
‘Denomination’ - gaming machine credit denomination;
‘Protocol’ - communication protocol;
‘UCB Version’ - UCB software version;
‘Actions’
- deletes the selected machine from the database.

To import machines, follow these steps:


1) In the ‘Machine Import List’ select the desired machine(-s).
2) Click .

INFORMATION
After the machine is imported, the following alert message will be displayed in the upper part of the
screen (see example below).

3) Reload Configuration.
4) Update the home page. The new machine will be displayed in the ‘Current Devices’ form with the
acquired ID number.

INFORMATION
To view and edit machine parameters use the ‘Update Machine Parameters’ form (for details see
chapter 4.3.2 on page 26).

4.3.6 Add New Machine

NOTE
If the gaming machine has not been auto-determinated in the System, it can be added manually.

To add new machines, follow these steps:


1) In the ‘List of Machines’ click .

2) After the ‘Add Machine’ form is displayed, set the desired machine parameters and click .

INFORMATION
After the machine is added, the following alert message will be displayed in the upper part of the
screen (see example below).

3) Reload configuration following the ‘Reload configuration’ link.


4) Update the home page. The added machine will be displayed in the ‘Current Devices’ form.

4.3.7 Delete Machine

To delete information on a gaming machine, follow these steps:


1) In the ‘List Of Machines’ select the desired machine and click the respective button.

INFORMATION
After a machine is deleted, the following alert message will be displayed in the upper part of the
screen (see example below).

2) Reload configuration following the ‘Reload configuration’ link.


3) The deleted machine information will be removed from the ‘Current Devices’ form (for details
see chapter 3.1.2.4 on page 14).

NOTE
To reconnect the deleted machine, use the ‘Import machine’ (for details see chapter 4.3.3
on page 27) or ‘Add new machine’ (for details see chapter 4.3.4 on page 31) options.

5.1 Equipment Status

In the ‘Current Devices’ the activated machine UCB is marked with .

In the ‘Current Devices’ the gaming machine using UCB connected to the ‘OCTA Jackpot Controller’ is

5.2 Reset UCB

NOTE
The button is available for the Administrator only.

To reset machine UCB, follow these steps:


1) In the ‘Current Devices’ select the desired machine.

5.3 Reports
5.3.1 ‘Paid Jackpots for Period’ Report

Path: Main Menu / Reports / Paid Jackpots for Period.


Function: Displays the list of won Jackpots within the report period.

To generate the report, set the report period in the ‘Date from’ and ‘Date To’ fields.

The report displays the following information:


‘Jackpot’ - Jackpot name. The link opens the ‘View Jackpot Parameters’ form (for details
see chapter 4.2.2 on page 22);
‘Amount’ - Jackpot won amount;
‘Machine’ - ID number of the gaming machine. The link opens the ‘View Machine
Parameters’ form (for details see chapter 4.3.1.1 on page 24);
‘Start Amount’ - Jackpot start amount;
‘Start Date’ - Jackpot drawing start date and time;
‘Total Bets’ - amount of bets placed within Jackpot drawing;
‘Win Date’ - Jackpot hit date and time;
‘Total Contributions’ - total amount of Jackpot contributions;
‘Contribution %’ - current Jackpot contribution %;
‘Contribution’ - calculated Jackpot contribution from bet amount

INFORMATION
Use the ‘Export List To Xls’ to export data to the MS Excel file.

5.3.2 ‘Payout Summary’ Report

Path: Main Menu / Reports / Payout Summary.


Function: Displays the list of won Jackpot amounts from the beginning of the System operation.

The report displays the following information:


‘Jackpot’ - Jackpot name. The link opens the ‘View Jackpot Parameters’ form (for details
see chapter 4.2.2 on page 22);
‘Amount’ - total won amount;
‘Number’ - quantity of won Jackpots;
‘Total Bets’ - total amount of game bets;
‘Total Contributions’ - total amount of Jackpot contributions;
‘Current Contribution’ - calculated Jackpot contribution from bet amount.

INFORMATION
Use the ‘Export List To Xls’ to export data to the MS Excel file.

6.1 Factory Reset

NOTE
The ’Reset all jackpots’ link is available under the MASTER_RESET role only.

The ‘Factory Reset’ link enables the user to reset all Jackpots to the ‘Not configured’ status and clear
Jackpot history

To reset all Jackpots, follow these steps:


1) In the main menu follow the ‘Factory reset’ link.
2) After the following confirmation message is displayed on the screen, click OK (Cancel closes the
form without changes).

3) After operation is successfully completed, update the home page.

6.2 Reset All Jackpots

NOTE
The ‘Reset all jackpots’ link is available under the PARTIAL_RESET role only.

The ‘Reset all jackpots’ link enables the user to reset all Jackpot parameters to the ‘Not configured’ status.
Jackpot history is saved in the System.

To make factory reset, follow these steps:


1) In the main menu follow the ‘Reset all jackpots’ link.
2) After the following confirmation message is displayed on the screen, click OK (Cancel closes the
form without changes).

3) After the operation is successfully completed, update the home page.

NOTE
All Jackpots will acquire the ‘Not Configured’ status. To continue working with the System, they
should be reconfigured and activated.
