23 July 2020

In the palace courtyard today, I had an unexpected encounter. I met Subhadra, the
charming granddaughter of the old doll maker. She was a sweet little girl when I saw
her last with her grandfather. In fact, I recognised her because of the dolls she was
carrying.
I introduced myself to her and told her that I knew and respected her grandfather.
She told me that she had come to the palace to sell her grandfather’s dolls. I knew
that it would not be easy. The old man had himself tried to sell them to the palace
children but was unsuccessful. I decided to help the old man.
I asked her to give those dolls to me and that I would sell them for her. She agreed
and gave them to me happily.
