Worksheet-2-Questions For Formulating Significant Learning Goals

The document outlines Kara Styron's goals for a course on researching and presenting information on American Indian groups in Texas. Her Big Hairy Audacious Goal is for students to design and present a virtual museum on the topic. She lists questions to help formulate significant learning goals in areas like foundational knowledge, application, integration, human dimensions, caring, and learning how to learn. The questions are aimed at determining what students should understand, what kinds of thinking and skills they need, how ideas connect, what they can learn about themselves and others, what values they may adopt, and how to become self-directed learners of the subject.

Questions for Formulating Significant Learning Goals

A year (or more) after this course is over, I want and hope that students will have an
understanding of how to research and present information on topics and take ownership of
their own studies and research.

My Big Harry Audacious Goal (BHAG) for the course is: Students will report on the various
American Indian groups of Texas by designing and presenting a virtual museum.

of what they need/want to learn, and a plan for learning it?
