ABB Asea Brown Boveri DICON Adjustment Report MG /MSE SETTING RECORD "“DICON" Hull-No.: Shipyard: Shipname: Shipping company: Diesel Manufacturer/Type: Diesel-no.: Order-no.+ Approved by Classification: Date: Name Signature: Data of Diesel: Nominal spee Ignition Speed: DICON adjusted and ail func- tions tested as registered in this record Overspeed: Date: Nominal power: Name: Pick-up: Company/Dept: Tacho-generator: Signature: QS-Freigabe ABB DICON /E2 Adjust.-Report Print: E 03.93 Index: 1 1 CONTENTS - Preface = Activation of Initialization Procedure - Initialization/Setting Routines and Figures (Records) - Setting Pocedure for the Analog Speed Input - Diagrams - Start phase - Timing - Stop phase - Timing Preface This setting record must be completed for each individual unit. All set parameters should be recorded and entered in the input fields during initialization routine. ‘The DICON operating manual should be used together with this record. Especially follow the Setting Procedure for the Analog Speed Input before attempting an initialization. A copy of this record should always be kept where the DICON device is used. The alphanumeric block on the front panel contains keys with up to four different symbols. Numeric values are directly entered by pushing the keys, letters are entered with a combination of the SHIFT- and IMMED-keys as the following example shows: call key combination 1 1 1 ABB A SHIFT + 1 B IMMED + 1 c SHIFT + IMMED + 1 Start of Initialization Routine Make sure that you have calculated the calibration values for R224, figures 9 and 46, before you go through this routine. - Push the red Reset-pushbutton on the back of the unit. - Hold the Reset-pushbutton depressed and operate the PROG-Key on the front. - Release the Reset-pushbutton and when the initialization picture (Fig. 1) appears on the display, release the PROG-Key. The initialization routine is now activated. DICON /E2 Adjust.-Report Print: E 03.93 Index: 1 Page: 2 Initialization/Setting Routines and Figures The following parameter figures, which require numeric input values indicate their present preset values in round brackets, symbolized by "X" in the figures of this record.Range unit and type of input are indicated in square brackets in the bottom line of the display. DICON /E2 Adjust.-Report Print: E 03.93 Index: 1 Pag 1.7 Calibration and Correction of Analog Speed Signal - Determination of overspeed set-point for DICON - Determination of max. speed range for DICON - Determination of R224 for adapting the 1/G voltage to DICON signal voltage. Example: Output Voltage T/G: 15 V DC @ 1000 min-1 Nominal Speed: 1500 min-1 Overspeed: 1,25 x Nominal Speed = 1,25 x 1500 min-l = 1875 min-1 Value for figure 46: 1875 Max. speed range for DICON: 2000 min-1 Value for figure 9: 2000 Output voltage of T/G @ 2000 min i5V_x_ 2000 UPM = 30 v 1500 UPM Determination of R224: 30V_- 5V x 4.7 KQ = 23,5 Kg BV Solder a suitable resistor combination to the solder points on the terminal board marked R224. Correction of DICON Run up the Diesel engine to nominal speed and measure the actual speed (e.g. via frequency). Example: Actual speed: 1510 min-1 DICON indication: 1475 min Correction: 1510 x 2000 = 2047 1475, Call up figure 10 and enter 2047 For example, if DICON shows 1580 as actual speed, the correction for figure 9 is 1510 x 2000 = 1956 1580 Now the analog speed indication is correctly calibrated. Attention If a T/G with AC output is installed, a suitable bridge- connected rectifier with a 10uF smoothing capacitor must be installed between the T/G output and terminals 20/21 of the terminal board. Date:.24.04.92 Index: 1.1 DICON /E2 Adjust.-Report Print: E 03.93 Index: 1 Page: 31 2. Fix input resistance for speed on DICON at 30V. R224 30V = SV + 4.7 kQ = 23.5 k@ Sv The Diesel engine is started and sped up to nominal speed. Now the speed can be read on the DICON and on the Diesel engine (for example in connection with the mains fre- quency) .Now the speed of the Diesel engine is for example 1510 1/min. 1475 1/min are indicated on the DICON. Now the speed is readjusted on the DICON. 1510 * 2000 = 2047 1475 Now turn back to initialization, and put the value of 2047 into figure 9. If 1580 1/min is indicated on the DICON, proceed as above. 1510 * 2000 = 1911 1580 In figure 9 the value of 1911 is put in. If an AC- or three-phase tacho-generator is used, a bridge- connected rectifier in combination with a smoothing capaci- tor of 10uF has to be connected to the terminals 20 and 21. Description of Function The loadcomputer directs and controlls the connection of consumers to the board network. This function is totally integrated in the software - just like that concerning the power management-control unit - therefore requiring no further hardware equipment. A consumer demand can be transmitted via alarm 7-input to each DICON switched in the communication mains. This information is transmitted to the Master starting to process the load demand. If the relative load, including consumer power, exceeds the power limit entered in the power management-control unit (fig. 64), one or two Diesel engines are started according to demand. If the power reserves of the mains are so stable as to allow the consu- mer to be switched on, the output function of the respecti- ve DICON, having demanded a consumer, is set. Setting of the Loadcomputer To this end the function for alarm No.7 (fig. 81) must be set on Loadcomputer-Function (select No. 2). The output for function (cf. fig. 47) has to be set on No.0, so the consumer can be connected to the mains. The values for the consumer demand must be set on the DICON selected as the Master, so they can’t be deleted. If one of the values contains a zero, the demand of the respective consumer won’t be precessed any longer. DICON /E6 Discr.Loadcom. FACTOR 8 (1 = 1000) The factor descripes the following form : F = _10 $ Speeddifference * 100 X % Loaddifference X is the loaddifference per cent. It means: How much must the loadlimit of start and stop descend (in $), when the actual speed is falling down at about 10 %. Date: 03.08.1993 Index: 1.2 DICON /E6 Discr.Loadcom.
