Summarization of Insights On Module 9
I will show you the highlights of the insights and feedbacks of my groupmates regarding the
module that was assigned for us to give a review.
Let me start off with the first insight or feedback.

Module 9 sees the sights into the broad knowledge principles that may be used to create
literacy instruction. It outlines aspects to consider, all persist variety, specificity, lucidity, relativity,
assessable, and appropriate difficulty. The material is really constructive and indispensable in
the teaching and learning process. Teachers can make the most of the various guiding principle
provided to assist students in acquiring, maintaining, and transferring new information and
aptitude. It will also be of assistance to adult learners with low reading ability by guaranteeing
that new concepts are engaged.
Furthermore, I learned that as a teacher, they should regard as several aspects that
would better shore up the learners. It should be clear and organize, challenging, measurable,
engaging, and so on and so forth. they must either produce or look out for learning opportunities
where learners can test and apply their learning.

The module also taught me to value originality, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and
diversity of ideas. This not only applies to me but also applies to learners since I must
encourage them to create outputs, original ideas, varying points of view, own explanations, and
creative problem solving.
This module or chapter is a great help for me as a future elementary teacher because
the lesson is all about designing instructional plans and materials for teaching literacy through
literature. Through this lesson I will be able to choose the appropriate level of difficulty for my
students and also I will be able to present material to them in a clear and organized format. The
module 9 made me acquire to use multiple and varied examples and formats. Module 9 also
taught me to use ground concepts in concrete experiences, and also it taught me to support
learners in generating content and reasoning.
In this module I learned that when I teach literacy in the future I need to encourage the
learner to generate content because learning is enhanced when learners produce answers
themselves instead of reading or recognizing them. I also learned that I need to encourage
learners to generate explanations and resolve contradiction because learning is facilitated when
students need to construct explanation and arguments. I also need them to encourage to
construct ideas from multiple points of view and different perspective because it can help
learners to develop greater understanding and cognitive flexibility in using a concept in a range
of contexts.

literacy instruction. The material is really useful and essential in the teaching and learning
process. Teachers can utilize the various guidelines provided to aid students in acquiring,
retaining, and transferring new information and abilities. It will also help adult learners with low
reading ability by ensuring that new concepts are retained.
Module 9 is very helpful, especially we all know that the capacity and ability of the students are
not the same with each other, also it can help in teaching and learning process.
Upon continuing reading the module 9, I learned a lot various strategies and method in
teaching literacy through literature. Adults of all ages benefit from a well organized presentation
that makes new material easier to recall. Even if it is engaging it is critical to delete any
irrelevant material that may compete for the learner’s attention. I realized that it is preferable to
spread out the presentation of materials and assessments throughout time rather than
condensing learning experiences into a short period of time.
Hence, this module can help both students and teachers. Planning before teaching
literacy through literature is very important for the good development of children’s knowledge
according to its level of understanding.

One of the main reasons why literature is an important part of learning is that it offers a
bountiful and extremely varied body of written material which is important in learning
fundamental human issues.
As a future educator, It is indeed important to know the proper way on how to design
instructional plans and materials for teaching literature for it help the teacher and learners avoid
overemphasis on recitation and rote learning that can easily dominate a lesson. And also, it
promote 'teachers efficiency and improve students' performance. We all know that Instructional
materials provide the core information that students will experience, learn, and apply during a
course. They hold the power to either engage or demotivate students. With that, using learning
materials makes the lessons interesting, learning easy and enable teachers to easily express
concepts. Learning materials can significantly increase learners' achievement by supporting
learning.

This module is all about designing instructional plans and materials for teaching literacy through
literature. This chapter is very helpful especially for us future elementary educators. This lesson
will help us determine which approach and instructional materials is appropriate to use. Also it
help us to chose the right activities depending on the level of intelligence that our student has.
Modyle 9 gave me different examples and formats that i can use in teaching. This module also
teach me on how to use ground concepts on concrete experiences. Also it taught me on how to
help learners in making content and reasoning. The thing that i learned in studying literacy is
that when the time comes wherein I will be the one who will be teaching this subject I need to
engage my learners in generating content and involve them in the learning process because
learning is enhanced when there is interaction with the learners. Also it is very important to
encourage learners to generate explanations and resolve contradiction because it will facilitate
learning.

What I have learned in Module 9, Designing Instructional plans and materials for Teaching
Literacy through literacy is first, we have to choose the appropiate level of difficulty. Since we
are teaching young learners, we should base the difficulty of the lesson based on their level of
understanding. Learners are the first to consider when choosing a method, we should consider
their age, maturity, interests, abilities, and problems.
We should present material in a clear and organized format. We should always aim to give a
clear, well structures delivery. Organize the content of your presentation in a logical sequence
based on the outline you prepared. Keep your audience engaged to better help them remember
the content.
We should space presentations of new material across time. We should consider our student's
capacity in learning. For example, you are teaching music, you should give partitions in the
yopic so that they can absorb the lesson well. It is better to distribute the presentation of
materials and tests over time than concentrate the learning experience within a shot time span.
We should support learners in generating contemt and reasoning. Interventions are needed that
encourage the learner to actively generate language, content and patterns of reasoning rathen
than passively processing the material delivered by the learning environment.
We should give accurate feedback that will help the learners. Immediate feedback has the
advanyage of maximizing contiguity of correct information and of preventing elaboration of
incorrect information. For example, when incorrect alternatives on multiple choice tests are
presented, the wrong answers can be learned instead of the correct answers.

Module 9 entitled “Designing Instructional Plans and Materials for Teaching Literacy
through Literature” allow me to learn the different guidelines on how to design instructional plans
and materials properly.
Upon reading this module I had a lot of realizations. First, this module emphasized the
different guidelines that will help the learners acquire, retain and transfer new knowledge and
skills. Second, in selecting learning goals, task and instructional materials we should always
consider our learners level of expertise, especially if we have different types of learners. So if
our learners have low level of understanding we should give a text that is not too difficult for
them, on the other hand, if the learners have a high level of understanding we should give them
text that will stretch their knowledge. Additionally, I have also learned that if we want to develop
our learners, we need to use challenging texts that will engage them with new and meaningful
content, but we should also give texts that will allow them to practice and further develop the
abilities they have previously acquired.
Through this module I was also able to realized that to become an effective teacher we
must use multiple and varied examples and formats in teaching, because learners can better
apply their knowledge, abilities, and techniques across a variety of tasks and circumstances if
they acquire them in multiple and varied contexts. Another, if we want our learners learn from
us, we must present our material in a clear and organized format, because learners will be able
to remember all the information we teach if it is presented in a clear and orderly manner.
Lastly, I have realized that as a future teacher encouraging learners is very important. This
is one of the most difficult aspects but also one of the most powerful tools that a teacher can
use. Encouraging our students is one of the key to unlocked their untapped potential. So we
must encourage them to generate their own content, generate their own explanations and
resolve contradictions, and encourage them to construct ideas from multiple points of view and
different perspectives. Encouraging them to generate their own content, explanation, ideas and
etc. will help them to develop a greater understanding of a subject as well as increased
cognitive flexibility in applying it to a variety of situations.
So I think that brings us to the end. I and my groupmates were hoping that these realizations
and feedbacks would also give you learnings and will be enough for you to boost your own
