Week 7 Activity
1c. What about a project where collaboration on numerous files must be done – what would
you use to manage that?
Ans-The applications such as Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive are two applications, I use
to share large number of files.
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of storing files “in the cloud” versus on your
own system?
Ans- The advantage of storing files on cloud is that it is the cheaper way to store large files in
terms of storing capacity as compared to hard drives and other physical forms of SSD’s. The
files stored on cloud can easily be accessed and used, and all it needs is an internet
connection and login credentials, whereas in case of physical storage, corruption or sudden
failure of SSD’s arises then it becomes impossible to retrieve or view our files. It may also
result in losing all the data of our file. So, cloud provides freedom from storage failures and
physical damages. However, it has some disadvantages, one is that storing a file on cloud
always requires high speed internet. Second it is impossible to store files which are the size of
hundreds of gigabytes. Also, the files from cloud can be hacked because it is saved on a
remote interface so there is a possibility of stealing of data by hackers. Therefore, the files
which contains our financial records and other sensitive content must be saved on the storage
of a system or in external devices rather than cloud.

Social Media: To Whom Does It Belong?
Ans- Social Media belongs to everyone. Everyone uses social media for sharing data, sharing
their life experiences, now some people have started to use it to promote their work using
these sites so there is no restriction on what people can use them for. We can even raise our
voices through them when we come across a criminal activity or anything which we feel unjust
for. But we must use them for fun and for sharing information not to spread hate or create
wrong opinions about anyone. People have started using social media for spreading terrorism
and we must not be very careful on what information we share to social media. Therefore,
everyone uses social media for different purposes no one owns or controls the social media.
