1.Management will give an Approval to Convert the Physical Machine.

Hi Virtualization team, you are authorized to convert
Lab11r22k8 machine .
Please Migrate it by end of this Month

2.VMware Virtualization team manager will assign this task to respective Engineer

3.VMware Engineer Will Maill all the stake holders about the conversion date and

9.Stop all the services EXcept Windows and Vmware Services
10.Disable RDP.

_On Specific date and time Convert the machine

Post-Migration Check list


1.Before powering on Disconnect the network adapters
2.Power on the VM
3.Check the Hostname
4.Take Screen shots of previous areas
and check whether there are any changes
5.Check the dummyfolder in all the drives
6.Start all the services which were running previously
7.Power off the physical machine
8.Connect the network adapters of VM and power on
9.Enable RDP

Give the Machine for UAT (user acceptance testing)

Once the migration is successful, Physical machine will be kept powered off for a
week and after that the physcal machine can be reused.
