 Collaborate with the members online to discuss answers to the following and put them
in one PowerPoint video file. Your PPT video (maximum of 15 minutes) should contain
the following:

 Brief background about the song


 The song with its lyrics
 Explanation of the lyrics with concrete basis for the claims
 Lines in songs are analyzed similarly to a poem. This video link can supplement

 Explanation of its overall organization or structure. (Is there a clear melody? Is
there more than one melody? If so, are they similar to one another or do they
contrast with each other? Is the melody repeated? Is it varied or the same? Do
different instruments play it? How are the lyrics presented? Are they repeated?)
 Description of details such as what kind of rhythm is used. Is it varied? How? Is
there harmony? What kind of instruments are played? How do these details fit
into the structure?
 Insights about the song: How can we relate to its message today? So what? What
significant human experience is conveyed?
Reminders:
 Avoid copy and paste from the internet.
 Use short phrases/sentences only.
 Balance text and pictures
 Do not overcrowd a slide with too much information.
 Follow standard English in the slides and in the narration/voice over.
 Giving of insights/reflection is not the same as moralizing.
 Only students who helped in the completion of this task will be given a grade.
