l. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
1.classify sentences according to their uses.
2.construct declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory sentences.
3.show teamwork and cooperation through participating in a group activity.

ll. Subject Matter:


Topic: Types of Sentences
Reference: Modyul in Grade 7
Materials: Visual aids and flash card

lll. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings
2. Prayer
3. Checking of attendance

B. Review of the past lesson.


Let's review have you remembered the topic last meeting everyone?

C. Motivation
Let's have a group activity; you have to divided into 4 groups and I will give you a piece of
paper which written in words, each group arrange the words to form a sentence.

D. Presentation/Discussion
Ok class before that I will present to you the Types of Sentences,
Sentence - 'A set of word arranged in a pre-determined order, so that they express a clear
thought is called sentence.'
they are four Types of Sentences;
Assertive or Declarative sentence - It gives an idea and it states a fact. It also ends with a
period.(.)
Example: Reading helps gain knowledge.
Ok who can give another example of assertive sentence?.
Interrogative sentence - that's ask a question or requests information. It always end with
a question mark.(?)
Example: How many eggs did the hen lay?
Ok class give one more example of interrogative sentence?.
Exclamatory sentences - that conveys an excitement or emotion of the speaker.At the
end of the sentence we use an exclamation mark.(!)
Example: what a pleasant surprise!
Who can give another example of exclamatory sentence?.
Imperative sentence - that gives an order, command, request, suggestion, proposal or
instruction begins with a verb and ends with a period or full stop.(.)
Example: Take a step forward. (order)
Let's go for a walk. (suggestion)
Please get me a glass of water. (request)
Don't go too close to the fire. (instruction)

D1. Activity
I will be group to you to four groups;
In group 1. Give a 5 examples of Assertive or Declarative sentence.
The group 2. Give 5 examples of interrogative sentence.
Next goup 3. Give 5 examples of exclamatory sentence.
And the last group 4. Give 5 examples of imperative sentence.

D2. Analysis
How do you feel when you got correct answer?
How do you feel when you can't answer in this lesson?

D3. Abstraction
If you will give a chance to become a writer, what will you do?

D4. Application
For application you are going to make a short scenario using the four sentences
according to researcher here your theme for you short scenario;
For group 1. A famous actress visited in your village.
For group 2. You and your friends are in a concerts.
For group 3. Your teacher inform you about your failing marks.
For group 4. You are lest when you meet a group of friends having seem in the road.

What have you learned from our topic?

lV. Evaluation:
Direction: Find which sentences correctly. Write (DS) if it a declarative sentence, (INS) if it a
interrogative sentence, (EXS) if it a exclamatory sentences, (IMS) and for imperative sentences.
1. This summer vacation my family is traveling to America.
2. Do you prefer tea or coffee?
3. Rita likes chocolate, doesn't she?
4. Hurry! we won the games.
5. Let's go for an exercise.
6. What is an exclamatory sentences?
7. How cleaver you are!
8. Did it rain yesterday in your town?
9. Yesterday, they weren't at home. were they?.
10. Please get me at a glass of water.

V. Assignment:
Give example 2 sentence each sentence of exclamatory, imperative, interrogative and
declarative sentences.
