Procedures& Control Measures
1. Ensure erection of Scaffold by skilled &
experienced scaffolders/ contracting agency. 2. Use only those scaffolds which are certified and tagged as “Safe for use” (i.e having a Green ‘Ready Going up & down a scaffold / Shifting of tools, to Use’ Tag). 1 tackles and equipment on the scaffold 3. Avoid loading the Scaffold platform with heavy Collapse of Scaffold platform material. 4. Check for nearby loose & heavy items which may fall on scaffold. 5. Use of proper PPEs. 6. Barricade the floor area below the scaffold location. Trip/ Fall Hazard 7. Use of full body harness/ Safety belts while working at height. 8. Use of Proper and recommended mandatory PPEs. 9. Check for slippery Grating/ Scaffold members 10. Ensure health check up of persons working at height. 11. Ensure availability of ladder for climbing up or descending down the scaffold. Else horizontal members are sufficiently close for ease of climbing. 1. Ensure scaffold platform is provided with securely fastened Hand & Toe rail. 2. Ensure scaffold member/ clamps are not loose and securely fastened. 3. Ensure Platform gratings are secured & there is no Injury to working Personnel due to considerable gap in the platform. Trip/ Fall Hazard 4. Use of full body harness. 5. Use of Proper and recommended mandatory PPEs. 6. Check for slippery Grating/ Scaffold members. 2 Working on Scaffold Platform 7. Ensure health check up of person. 8. Ensure additional precautions for the job as per the relevant permit. 1. Avoid loading the Scaffold platform with heavy items. 2. Check for nearby loose & heavy items which Collapse of Scaffold while working may fall on scaffold. 3. Use only those scaffolds which are certified and tagged as “Safe for use” (i.e having a Green ‘Ready to Use’ Tag). 1. Use certified & Tested Lifting tools. 2. Use proper & correct tools. 3. Use mandatory PPEs 4. Do not drop material from height. Use correct 3 Lifting of materials Fall of materials lifting/lowering devices. 5. Prepare erection / dismantling plan before carry out the job. 6. Ensure area below is barricaded 7. Ensure proper anchoring points for lifting 1.
