Lesson Plan in Mathematics I

In fifty minutes(50min) of discussion the pupils of Grade 1- mango are expected to do the following
activities with seventy- five percent (75%) of accuracy

I- Objectives:
a) tells time by hour using analog clock;
b) reads and writes time shown on the clock
c) draw the hands of the clock according to the given time.

II- Subject Matter:

-Tells and writes time by hour using analog clock

III- Learning Resources:

Materials-real clock, improvised clock, visual aids
Reference-Math 1 book(Tausug) pg. 239-244

IV- Procedure:

Teacher’s activity Students Activity

A. Preliminary Activity

1.Greetings
2.Prayer
3.Review

B. Motivation
Do you come to school early? Yes! ma’am

What time do you come to school? I come to school at 6:00am

It is right to come to school late? No! ma’am!

you’re right! It is not good to come to

school late because you may miss some
activities in the school.

C. Lesson Proper
Today we are going to read a story about a
child who come to school early.
(reading the story)

Marco goes to school early. He wakes up at

5:00 in the morning. He reaches the school
at 6:00am. He has time to attend flag
ceremony at 7:00 o’clock.

Marco wakes up at 5:00 in the morning. I

have here a clock and we will set the time
into 5:00 o’clock. In setting the clock or time
we have to look for the hand of the clock.
The clock has its hand the long hand and the
short hand. The long hand is for the minutes
and the short hand is for the hour. To set
the time into 5:00 o’clock we have to point
first the school hand into 5 and the long
hand into 12.

Example:

I will set the time and at the same time I will

write it on the board. This mean now the
time is 5:00 o’clock. I will also draw the
hands clock.

Ok, another is Marco reaches the school at

6:00 o’clock. To set the time into 6:00
o’clock we will do the same way we have to
point the short hand into 6 and the long
hand into 12.

Example:

It means the time now is 6:00 o’clock.

Did you understand? Yes! Ma’am!
Ok, very good!
II- Guided Practice
I have here an improvised clock and each
group will be given a clock. We will do what
we did earlier. Set the time when I dictate
to you and raised it up and show to the class

Are you ready? Yes! Ma’am!

Set your clock to 1:000’clock

Are you done? Yes! Ma’am!

Ok, show it? (the pupils will show their answers)

Say 1:00 o’clock

Another, set your clock to 9:00 o’clock.

Ready? Yes! Ma’am!

Ok, raised it (the pupils raised the clock)

The time is 9:00 o’clock

Say 9 o’clock 9 o’clock

Very good!

Another example, set your clock to 11 (the pupils are participating)

o’clock

Yes! Ma’am!
Are you done?
(the pupils show the clock)
Show the clock

Very good! The time is 11 o’clock

11 o’clock
Say 11 o’clock?
11 o’clock
Say it again?
Yes! Ma’am!
Class did you understand?

Excellent!

III- Independent Practice

Draw the hands of the clock according to
the given time.

1. 2.00

2. 8:00

3. 12.00

4. 3:00

5. 10:00
D. Closure
Today we have tackled about the time by
using analog clock by next meeting we are
going to talk more about these.

E. Evaluation
Direction: Encircle the correct answer
1.

a)9:00 b)3:00 c)1:00

2.

a)8:00 b) 2:00 c)12:00

3.

a)9:00 b)6:00 c)5:00

F. Intervention
Enrichment:
