Key Architecture and ƒ The design provides a memorable image for Marina
Design Features Bay. Distinctive design elements include the sculptural
wave-like roof forms of the low-rise components, the Sky

i
Park above the Hotel Towers and the ArtsScience
Museum. The grouping of the three Hotel Towers, together
with the Sky Park, forms a powerful silhouette and strong
“gateway” image to Marina Bay.

ƒ The overall composition of buildings fits in very well

with the existing and future developments. The setting
back of the Hotel Towers from the waterfront opens up an
expanse of views to the city and the entire Marina Bay.
The spaces between the Hotel Towers frame views
between Marina Bay and the Garden at Marina South.

ƒ The one-hectare Sky Park is a unique design. It will

provide a memorable experience and will be an attraction
for visitors offering 360-degree views of the city, Marina
Bay and the ‘Gardens-by-the-Bay’.

ƒ The ArtScience Museum can be likened to a

“welcoming gesture” that invites people to Marina Bay.

ƒ The hotel towers are angled to create a dynamic

sculptural effect. A soaring glazed atrium unites the three
Hotel Towers. The façade fronting the Garden at Marina
South has fully landscaped balconies, extending the
greenery vertically up the Towers. This is an interesting
contrast with the angled, glazed urban facades facing
Marina Bay.

ƒ The overall planning, site layout and pedestrian

circulation allows people to move about the
development with ease. The different components are
well-connected and seamlessly integrated with the RTS
Station, the Garden at Marina South and the Waterfront
Promenade.

ƒ The public can look forward to many attractive public

spaces within the development. This includes the Event
Piazza which can hold up to 10,000 people; the roof-top
amphitheatre above the ArtsScience Museum; and the
activity nodes within the multi-level Grand Arcade.

ƒ The design reinforces Singapore's tropical “City-in-a-

Garden” image. The greenery extends over the building
facades and roof terraces and into the atriums and
circulation areas. Large canopy structures and trellises
over the Waterfront Promenade and Grand Arcade provide
shade and bring about an intimate pedestrian scale.
