The Action Cycle
Evidence of second language; signs/labels with simple questions, commands, vocabulary
etc. that will be used frequently.

• Every ECE- 6 Classroom


All of the items above for daily reference plus:
Current transdisciplinary theme
Unit of inquiry title ( if your school uses titles)
Central idea
Lines of inquiry
Student’s’ questions
On going student action displayed as hard copies, photos etc.
Unit of inquiry binders in use as working tools for each child.
Student portfolios
Evidence of children’s work from the current unit
1-3 samples of students’ work from each unit already completed this year, as permanent
display. ( You will show evidence of students'’ work for all 6 units (4 for ECE) by the end
of the year.)

•Hallways:
Students’ work can be displayed here for the current unit and recent past units.
Display a one page information sheet of the current unit of inquiry showing the theme,
central idea and lines of inquiry.
Labels with brief explanations showing how the work displayed relates to the unit,
showing integration or concept based learning, if single subject.

•Optional
Essential Elements of the PYP-a single page, hard copy in teacher’s work station.
Simple labels/signs with our key concepts on the hallway/bulletin board displays too.
