CCCH9033 Group Project Brief
CCCH9033 Group Project Brief
1. Explore and use various sources of information and assess Hong Kong’s performance in terms of
tackling various global issues.
2. Demonstrate a reflective response to global sustainability challenges in the context of Hong Kong
and an awareness of the implications of such responses on the challenges China is facing in her
ongoing quest for modernization.
Background
Adopted by the UN in 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals aims to achieve a more
sustainable future for all. There are building, urban design and community projects, initiatives and
institutes in Hong Kong that respond to the SDGs as well.
The Group Projects are a collective study on Hong Kong’s performance in tackling global
sustainability issues, in form of 3-part Analyses of 16 Case studies (See Appendix).

Instructions for the 3-Part Analysis
Students should form groups of 4 and pick 1 Case out of 16. Students should conduct desktop
research for basic information and background. Site Visits and short interviews, if applicable, are
highly encouraged.
Each group should produce an A1-sized Poster to summarize the collected information, including but

2. Background: Why was it set up and what issue is it trying to respond to?
Each group should present the Case Study in 3 slides, max. 5 minutes. The Presentation should cover
all the basic information in Part 1, and also evaluate its contributions to SUD of Hong Kong. 3 groups
under the same topic (See Appendix) will present first, followed by a short discussion.
Groups will be evaluated by their Presentation content and clarity, and the depth of understanding
and reflection of the case studies in discussion. Other groups are expected to actively participate in
the discussions as well.
Part 3: Report
Each group should submit a report (max. 3500 words) to consolidate your findings and reflections.
Similar to the Poster, it should consist of basic information, background, participation and its
