There is a continual need to restore, renew, and revive ourselves, and I firmly believe that
education is the way forward. I can visualize the developments and impact of ‘Big Data’
analytics in different sectors. Data Science is a powerful and fascinating subject to learn. Data
Scientist is the sexiest job of the 21st century and multiple organizations like Amazon, IBM,
Siemens, Google, SAP already have many monumental types of research in the same. The vast
scope of this technology will not only equip me with advanced skills but allow me to thrive in this
industry as well. After working for more than 2 years in the IT sector, I feel I am at the right
stage to imbibe new knowledge and trending methodologies. I want to pursue my master’s in
Data Science/Analytics to acquire a clear grasp of the subject and a deep clarity in relevant
computing technologies.

After receiving the award of ‘Best Science Project’ for making an ‘Electric Pen’ in the 9th grade,
I decided to opt for an education in the sciences/engineering arena. The most important benefit
of choosing the electronics and communication branch was the freedom to drift between the
hardware field and the software domain. Along with strengthening my foundational
understanding of the field, my under-graduation in electronics and communication engineering
solidified my desire to extend my capabilities in the field of ‘Data Science’. While pursuing my
bachelor’s, I developed an interest in programming. I reveled in the entirety of my study and
developed a penchant for subjects like Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structure, Data
Analytics, Digital Signal Processing, and Control Systems. Further to advance my technical
skills, I did various projects using different coding languages and tools including C, C++, Python,
MATLAB, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, NodeJs, Angular 6.

Participating and winning quizzes, and academic competitions were something that I immensely
enjoyed. I was the 1st runner up for ‘Hardware Debugging’ competition in IdEEEas(2017),
Winner of ‘Table Tennis’ in Technisium(2017), ‘Technical Quiz’ in IdEEEas. (2016), and the
‘Young India Challenge’ conducted by Career Launcher in the city. (2016).

The next milestone of my career was when I got recruited as a Software Developer at Siemens,
where I am currently working on a cloud-based project. My responsibilities included developing
an intuitive website and adding/updating existing services while working with RESTful APIs.
This project offered me a chance to get familiar with several cutting-edge technologies like
AWS, GoLang, Angular 8+, NodeJs, Python, Machine Learning, Openshift, and MySQL. Along
with my regular software development tasks, I had the opportunity to support the testing team
with the new javascript testing tool named Cypress which advanced my responsibilities as a
performance and load tester. Adapt to accepting new challenges, I developed an ingenious
mobile app aimed at easing the current tedious commissioning process using ‘Augmented
Reality’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ during a hackathon, organized by Siemens. My desire to
design helped me in winning the national level competition of UX design named ‘Designathon’
organized by Siemens.
To advance my technical skills further, I got involved in various training programs conducted by
Siemens, such as Python, Advanced Angular, and GoLang. To solidify my interest in data
science, I have taken multiple online courses. The ML course offered by Stanford University at
Coursera and Data Science with Python at Udemy was eye-opening in terms of covering the
conventional tools employed in modern big data analytics. While working at Siemens for more
than 2 years with German partners, I had the good fortune to understand the German culture
better and even had an opportunity to learn Deutsch.

With a proclivity for Public speaking, I hosted multifarious events at Siemens. I helped in
commencing the Toastmasters Club at Siemens. Serving as the Vice-President at STS Pune
Toastmasters Club and Division C Public Relations Chair refined my communication,
networking, and leadership skills.

I have always believed that no amount of individual knowledge is worthwhile if it doesn’t help
society at large. I joined Pathfinder, a social welfare organization during college, and helped to
organize several campaigns to raise funds for orphanages. I am currently associated with an
international NGO, Robin Hood Army, which aims to serve the hungry citizens and empower the
street children with a primary education by conducting weekend classes.

After completing my master’s program, I hope to work as an ML Engineer/ Data Scientist with
MNCs like Bosch, Siemens, Adobe, Amazon, or SAP. While working at these large firms, I
would like to take up challenges and more responsibilities by managing/leading a team.
Eventually, I would like to explore more in this domain, pursue research and brisk solutions to
combat real-world problems faced by society. I am determined to pursue my MS in Data
Science/Analytics from [name of university]. I believe the exposure to relevant academic
knowledge, a stimulating environment, and the valuable chance to interact with fellow students
from different educational backgrounds will help me enhance my skills and enrich my mind.
