Benire II Reflection

The document reflects on a personal reflection session called BENIRE II. It discusses how the pandemic has made the student realize how lucky they are to have access to resources like food, water, and continuing their education. It emphasizes the importance of being grateful and helping others during these difficult times, not just with money but also through presence and volunteering. The reflection also stresses that as students, it's important to make time to stop, breathe, meditate, relax, and pray during stressful periods to relieve stress and rejuvenate the soul, which benefits physical health as well. The session allowed for two hours of silence and reconnection between body and soul through deep reflection.

Reflection

The BENIRE II was indeed a time for the attendees to have a personal time to reflect and become
aware about the world that they are living especially this time of the pandemic. What I have realize
during and after the session is that as a student and a citizen I am lucky enough that everything is
accessible to me in this trying times. I have the resources such as food, water and other essential
needs. Moreover, I am currently enrolled for this trimester and for that I could consider myself lucky
for not everyone is given the chance to continue their education because of this pandemic. This
pandemic has thought us a lot of things about life that we should not be selfish but instead be
grateful and be generous to other people. We should help each other even though we ourselves
need one. We could be generous in our own ways we could help other people by being a volunteer
in missions, or by counselling them and giving or allotting time for them. It is not just about money,
sometimes the best help that we could give is our presence.

In terms of being a student, I would like also to consider that during this of stressful times, talking
about activities, homework, quizzes and examinations, we should also learn how to STOP. We
should learn how to breathe and just take time to meditate and relax. And most importantly, take
time to pray. Praying is a medium for us to relieve our stress and rejuvenate our exhaustion. They
say that praying is only for our soul, but we have to remember that a prayer is the food for our soul,
consequently a healthy soul directly benefits your physical body. For more than two hours, I felt the
silence and the reconnection that my body and soul needs, because it is just so rare that we have
time to be alone and just have a deep reflection about life, leaving other things behind that makes
us in distress.
