Checklist For Review of Related Literature

This document provides a checklist for graduate students to assess their thesis or dissertation manuscript before submitting it for their proposal defense. It contains a list of formal criteria and requirements that the manuscript must meet, such as having properly formatted title pages, abstracts, tables of contents, chapter headings, and reference sections. Students must check off each item as complete and meeting standards. Examples of standards include the abstract being one paragraph of 300-350 words and including five key elements, and chapters one and two containing properly cited literature and stating objectives, methods, and ethical considerations. The checklist aims to ensure manuscripts meet requirements and do not have formal issues before defense.

Thesis/ Dissertation Assessment Checklist Before

Proposal Defense

Since the thesis/dissertation is a very important part of the graduate program, it would be a pity if
formal deficiencies spoiled the fruits of your hard labor. We would like to request that you fill in the
checklist below and submit the manuscript together. And yes, before submitting your manuscript for
proposal defense, all fields must be completed and checked! Please note that specific standards are
included in the assessment criteria and failure to meet them will not accept your manuscript for proposal
defense. Thus, substantial completion and assessment of each part must be accomplished.
