MANAGEMENT SYSTEM THAT ALLOW YOU TO KEEP YOUR COMPUTER
ORGANISED.
• THE FILES ARE KEPT IN A FOLDER.
• A FOLDER IS SIMILAR TO DRAWER IN WHICH YOU KEEP ALL YOUR
FILES.
WINDOW EXPLORER:

MICROSOFT WINDOWS EXPLORER IS A GRAPHICAL FILE MANAGEMENT


UTILITY FOR THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM. THE GOAL OF THE
WINDOWS EXPLORER IS TO ALLOW USERS TO CONVENIENTLY WORK
WITH THE FILES AND DIRECTORIES (FOLDER) LOCATED ON ANY
CONNECTED DISK. WHEN A FILE IS SELECTED WITHIN THE WINDOWS
EXPLORER INTERFACE, USERS CAN PERFORM VARIETY OF ACTIONS
SUCH AS REMAINING, MOVING, COPYING, PRINTING OR DELETING
THE FILE. ENTIRE FOLDERS CAN BE OPENED, EXPLORED, SHARED,
COPIED, CUT, PASTED, MOVED OR DELETED. FILES CAN BE SEARCHED
OFR DRAGGED AND DROPPED BETWEEN FOLDERS, AND FOLDERS CAN
BE MOVED INTO OTER FOLDERS AND DISK DRIVES AS DESIRED.
FUNCTIONS OF WINDOW EXPLORER:

• 1. WINDOWS EXPLORER DISPLAYS THE HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE


OF FILES, FOLDER, AND DRIVES ON YOUR COMPUTER. IT ALSO
SHOWS ANY NETWROK DRIES THAT HAVE BEEN MAPPED TO DRIVE
LETTERS ON YOUR COMPUTER.
• 2. ENTIRE FOLDERS CAN BE OPENED, EXPLORED, SHARED COPIED
CUT PASTED, MOVED OR DELETED.
• 3. WITHIN THE SEARCH TAB YOU CAN FIND FILES AND FOLDERS ON
YOUR COMPUTERS. PRESS THE F3 SHORTCUT KEY TO PEN SEARCH
AT ANY TIME WHILE IN WINDOWS EXPLORER.
HOW TO START WINDOWS EXPLORER?

• 1. CLICK ON START BUTTON.


• 2. SELECT ALL PROGRAMS.
• 3. SELECT ACCESSORIES.
• 4. CLICK WINDOWS EXPLORER
SHORTCUTS FOR FILE ACESS:

• TO CREATE A SHORTCUT TO A FILE FOR EASY


ACCESS TO A FILE THAT YOU USE
FREQUENTLY, YOU CAN ALSO CREATE A
SHORTCUT TO IT.
• A SHORTCUT DOESN’T CHANGE THE
LOCATION OF A FILE. THE SHORTCUT IS
JUST A POINTER OR LINK THAT LETS YOU
OEN THE FILE QUICKLY.
• IF YOU DELETE THE SHORTCUT, THE
ORIGINAL FILE ISN’T DELETED.
