Mission Statement
The mission of Headstart College is to provide customised technical education and training to
student that will enable them to function as entrepreneurs and employable person in private
and public sectors primarily in Zimbabwe, the Southern African region and beyond in relevant
technical disciplines.
Vision
Headstart strive to provide state of the art technical education and training in automotive,
commerce, tourism, agriculture and mining by 2025.
Core Values
PERSONS ROLES
1) Identity
i) Training is based on training needs identified in the world of work in Zimbabwe and
the region.
ii) Lectures that are appropriately qualified in accredited institutions are employed.
iii) Students with adequate entry qualifications are admitted.
iv) Training programs are vetted by the official quality assurance body in Zimbabwe
v) The College ensures that each student has adequate resources for practical training
and practice and other training course materials.
vi) In the initial stages the College will seek affiliation with accredited
institutions/Universities in Zimbabwe.
vii)Certificate, diploma and short courses shall be offered and eventually degrees shall
also be awarded.
viii) All programs will be benchmarked with national and regional programs
3) Training Programs
The college will begin offering Advanced Diplomas, Diplomas, certificates and short term
courses. The college envisages introducing degree programs in future. To ensure quality and
accreditation, it is in the process of entering affiliation agreements with existing universities in
Zimbabwe as follows:

The College shall seek affiliation with the above universities as indicated. These affiliations will
ensure that the students earn recognized qualifications as well as ensuring quality through
inspection by relevant universities. However, management, teaching, practical training and
recruitment will be the responsibility of Headstart College, guided by its mission, vision and its
core values.
1. Automotive
Students will have an opportunity for practical training, using garages and facilities associated
with Headstart College.
2. Commerce
b. Diploma in Entrepreneurship
Students will use the hotel facilities on site for their practical training.
4. Agriculture
Students will be assigned up to one hectare of land each for practical training. A student will
choose which crop to grow. Students will also be expected to produce animals on the farm.
The proceeds of the farm will benefit the student through including fee recovery and the
college to absorb the costs of inputs and land. The farms will be acquired in various parts of the
country for the purpose of hands on training so that as the students graduate they will go
straight and be farmers themselves.

Reputation and moral
Fees
Students shall pay fees as will be determined by the Board of Headstart College taking into
account the economic environment prevailing in the country. Those who will be involved in
income generating projects part of the fees will be deducted from their proceeds. Further with
the arrangement with government, students will have access from Zimbabwe
Manpower Development Fund upon approval.
Industrial attachment is undertaken outside the training institution to give the student
exposure to the workplace, work ethics, experience and networking.
Industrial attachment is undertaken when the student has covered both practical and
theory at the college to have hands on experience in the real world of work
The college specifies what the student will do during attachment under a specified
supervisor who assess the performance of the students.
The college follows up the student during attachment.
An attachment grade is given which contributes to the overall performance of the
student.
The student returns to the college to wrap up his training and graduate.
