Online summer school on

Usefulness of Remote Sensing & GIS for Environmental Studies

Course Procedure
Target Participant- Indian School students of 10th, 11th and 12th standard

Date: July 19, 2021

Dear Students
Welcome to online summer school on Usefulness of Remote Sensing & GIS for
Environmental Studies being conducted by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing,
Dehradun. In this document, you will get the procedure to participate in this course.

We hope by this time you must have received your login credentials for IIRS learning
management system (LMS) platform.
Procedure to participate in the course:

 Every day, the lecture will be streamed live at IIRS YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/user/edusat2004
 There will be two live sessions every day during July 26 - 30, 2021. The first
session will be conducted from 1000 hrs to 1100 hrs and second session will be
from 1200 hrs to 1300 hrs. Each session will have 45 minutes lecture, 5 minutes
break and then 10 minutes Q/A session. You can ask your question through
YouTube Chat Box. Few best questions will be selected and answered by
Faculty.
 The lectures will also be uploaded on IIRS LMS portal (https://eclass-intl-
lms.iirs.gov.in) by 1500 hrs daily during the course, where you can again see
the recorded lectures. For this you need to login on LMS portal with the
credential sent on email while registering for the course.
Award of Certificate:

 Quiz based on the lectures delivered everyday will also be uploaded on LMS
portal. There shall be 10 quizzes for 10 lectures to be delivered during five days
course. You need to attempt these quizzes. A certificate will be awarded only
if the total score of the quiz is at least 55%.
 The e-learning content on Remote Sensing and GIS shall also be available,
which is compulsory to watch. This is in addition to recorded lectures.
 After the completion of the course, you need to submit the feedback on LMS
portal and then download your certificate latest by August 31, 2021.

be no access to the IIRS LMS portal.
