Our Proper Home Garbage Disposal Guide

This document provides guidelines for proper home garbage disposal in accordance with a community's rules. It explains that garbage should be sorted into four categories and placed out on the specified days, times, and collection points. Burnable garbage and non-burnable garbage require designated bags, while recyclable items can be placed in boxes or nets. Larger items like furniture are considered bulky garbage and must be disposed of directly at the city's facilities. Cooperation in proper sorting and disposal helps protect the natural environment.

Our Proper Home Garbage Disposal Guide

~ In Order to Protect Natural Environment and Resources ~

The municipal office runs the home garbage collection and also decides the necessary procedures.
In accordance with your community, specified collection days, time and garbage collection points are
scheduled differently. We suggest you to get further details from your neighbors, members of Jichi-Kai
(Community Council)* or municipal officials in charge.

It is important to put your garbage out on the specified days. You need to sort it prior to disposal.
Please kindly adhere to the community rules. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

*Remarks:
Jichi-Kai can literally be translated into "Community Council” being locally organized by its residents
who work together voluntarily so as to improve living circumstances of the community.

Three Principles of Proper Home Garbage Disposal

1. On the Specified Day and Time
- on the mornings (by 8:30) on specified days* (*See the attached Garbage Collection Schedule)
(Please keep in mind that dumping on the previous day is strictly prohibited!)

2. At the Designated Collection Point

3. Sorting must be done before disposal

■ How to Sort
The garbage must be sorted into four categories: 1) Burnable Garbage, 2) Non-Burnable
Garbage, 3) Recyclable Garbage, and 4) Bulky garbage. Please mind the sorting rules when
disposing.
