Reflection About Population

Family is the foundation of society and will always protect, love, forgive and accept their members unconditionally. In the movie "What Happened to Monday", it shows that family will do anything for each other's safety and security, despite circumstances. Overpopulation led to increased twin and multiple births which the government addressed with a "One Child-One Earth" policy that required siblings be placed in cryosleep, though they were actually incinerated. Thursday disobeyed rules to play outside and got her finger cut, forcing her grandfather to cut off her finger for security, showing that family rules are meant to protect loved ones, even if they feel constraining.

Family is the first foundation of the society and they are the person who does

everything just to protect us from harm. They are always there through thick and thin. Will
accept you, love you, forgive you million times and ready to catch you even though they feel
hurt and bleed inside because of some circumstances. Siblings, a friend and a gem seldom you
might be not in a good condition but in the end of the day blood is thicker than water.
Apparently, we did not knew that we did something wrong still, they accept us whole heartedly
and protect from danger. In this crucial society, family is our confidant, protector and shield.
From the movie “WHAT HAPPENED TO MONDAY” it shows to us that family will accept you no
matter, will do everything for our safety and security, forgive you and the love is undying.

Overpopulation is one of the biggest problems that the world is facing right now that
leads to poverty, scarcity, and modified food explosion to meet population demands. In the
movie “What happened to Monday” scarcity is the main problem of the story that in turn leads
to an explosion twin and multiple births. Which then lead to an exacerbation of the initial
problem. Dr. Caymen as the head of the Child Allocation Bureau initiates the “One Child- One
Earth”; Child Allocation Act intended to decrease global overpopulation. All siblings are then
forced into bureau remanded cryo-sleep but they were actually incinerated. During childhood
days Thursday was disobeying his grandfather because she longed freedom about their set-up
name-sake day of the week which means she can only enjoy the outside world only Thursday
and was stocked in the remaining days. Out of the curiosity and longing of freedom she secretly
skipped by using the windows to played skateboard. Her grandfather was going insane in
finding her. Her siblings are all sitting in the table and asked to Thursday’s where about but
none of them knew. When she came back, blood was all over her finger. When her grandfather
founds out that the finger was thrashed he decided that he needs to thrash his entire
granddaughter finger for security, identity, and safety. In this scenario, Thursday hard-headed
leads to a very painful decision that her grandfather did. Making decision is also looking and
thinking the possible outcomes, advantages and disadvantages through this you can able to
balance if your decision was beneficial or not. The head of the family was setting rules and
regulation not for them but for our own sake. Sometimes, we might think that it is unfair and
we have our own right to decide. But they set those rules and regulations for us to be protected
and out of danger. However, we feel that they are holding us tight, never allow us to explore, to
the point that those rules strangled and made our self-rebel.
