METHOD STATEMENT

Epoxy Floor in Control


Room – Repair Work
Under contract# 11031021/00

1- Scope of Works:
1.1 NITOFLOOR SL 1000 “Flow Applied, 0.5 – 1 mm thick Self Smoothing Epoxy Resin Based Floor
Topping”:

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Whole floor shall be lightly grinded using grinding machine, to obtain a well-prepared surface prior to
application of epoxy self-level maintenance coat.

Industrial Vacuum Machine combined with grinding machine shall be used in order to assure the dust
control at the working place.

Firefighting sensors will be covered by polyethylene sheets, in order to protect it from dust.

The noticed on site surface crack shall be opened then to be filled using the epoxy putty or epoxy screed
depending on the crack depth when opened.

Surface shall be cleaned to remove any dust or contamination and reactivated using thinner.

APPLICATION OF EPOXY RESIN FLOOR TOPPING AS A MAINTENANCE COAT “Nitoflor SL1000”:

Nitoflor SL1000 consists of graded aggregates bound in a pigmented epoxy resin binder.

Nitoflor SL1000 flooring is supplied in four pre-weighed packs (base, hardener, aggregate and colour
pack) which are ready for immediate on-site use. Part mixing of these components is not acceptable and
will affect both performance and appearance of the finished floor.

Mixing should be carried out using either a forced action mixer; or a heavy duty, slow-speed drill fitted
with Fosroc mixing paddle MR4.

The Nitoflor SL1000 shall be used immediately. It shall be spread on to the primed surface to a uniform
1 mm thickness as specified by the Manufacturer using a steel trowel. Immediately the topping has been
spread to the specified thickness of 1 mm, the material shall be wet rolled with a spiked roller to a smooth
even surface, to aid air release.

The material shall be wet spike rolled once again not more than 15 minutes. If necessary it shall be
rolled at regular intervals of 10 minutes, until and no later than the initial gel time.

Nitoflor SL1000 shall be allowed to cure for not less than 24 hours prior to being opened to pedestrian
traffic, and 48 hours before vehicular traffic shall be allowed onto it.
