• Shade – this is an approximate description of the colour in application, and can be verified by
attaching a sample to the application form for assessment. Please insert one of the shades
having assessed the colour against the representative colours on the Colour Index web site.

• Sample – a representative sample of the dye on the main substrate on which it will be applied is
required.
• Main application – please give details of the main application methods in which this colourant can
be used e.g. yarn, jet, continuous or other methods.
• Substrate - please give details of the substrates to which this colourant is applicable e.g. wool,
cotton.
• End uses - please provide a brief overview as to which areas this product is applicable (further
information can be added in uses and comments).
• CAS and EU numbers - if you also use systems such as CAS and EU to describe your commercial
product, please add the numbers as applicable.
