PM COMPATIBILITY CHANGE LOG

The PM Compatibility shows whether the controllers in a Power Management setup are
compatible and thereby able to operate together or not.
The PM Compatibility version is a 4 digit number (W.XY.Z) identifying the version of the
Power Management package included within each controller:

W. Incremented when changes made that compromises compatibility of the functionality

included within the DEIF Rental package definition.
X. Incremented when changes made that will give some compatibility problems.
Y. Incremented when new PM feature is added - This will give no compatibility problems.
Z. Incremented when changes/modifications made in existing PM features. This will give
no compatibility problems.

The PM compatibility version is present in the following products:

• AGC-3: from version 3.60.0

• AGC 200: from version 3.60.0
• AGC-4: All versions
• AGC-4 Mk II All versions
• AGC 200 v4: All versions
• AGC 100: All versions
• AGC 150: All versions
• ALC-4: All versions
• ASC-4: All versions

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.00.0:

New features:
1) Various Genset Data made available from within SuperVision in the PC Utility
Software.
a. Compromises compatibility of Running Hour information amongst the
controllers.
2) PM Compatibility check from within SuperVision in the PC Utility Software.
3) Connectivity check of external communication amongst the controllers from within
SuperVision in the PC Utility Software.
Changes:
1) Preparation for scaling support to be introduced in upcoming AGC-4. Power
management system now able to handle Step up/down transformers on busbar.
a. MB, TB and BTB synchronization compromised.
b. Power capacity check compromised.
c. LD start/stop in apparent power compromised.
2) BTB will wait for a period of time, equal to LD stop delay, before initiating it’s deload
sequence during active operation.
Corrections:
1) TB synchronizing in Semi could not be reset by TB open command given via modbus.
2) In LTO sequence TB now closes to load if MB is open independent of SyncToMains
setting.
3) LTO active on IDToRun. Another Mains has command status and mode is shifted
from SEMI to AUTO or vise versa. The LTO sequence is shortly interrupted – if
BackSync ON MB is synchronized for ½s and then cancelled, if BackSync OFF then
TB is tripped (causing blackout) and MB closed and TB re-synchronized.
4) If load present on busbar to the right of BTB and the right section was called upon
from the left side, the BTB would close before a DG was to connect on the right side
busbar. The other way around the BTB would wait until DG connected to the left
busbar and then synchronize and close.
5) Calculation of when swapping of DGs due to priority order was okay was not valid
when running LD start/stop in percentage.
6) MB able to perform black closing if it is missing all units if TB is present and open.
7) When auto switch set to all sections, the system now takes status of all BTBs on the
way to the healthy Mains into consideration. If any in unable to close automatically
DG supply selected instead. Previously only the surrounding BTB(s) of the section
containing the failing Mains was taken into consideration.
8) Load take over sequence in applications with TB normally closed. Here the TB was
tripped when start activated and then the TB was synchronized when DG(s)
connected. Now TB remains closed and the DG(s) perform the synchronization.
9) If both ON and OFF feedback high on TB the MB would close without synchronization
to voltage on busbar.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.00.1:
Includes version:
1.00.0

Changes:
1) Time gab from Multi-start demand occurs to Multi-start is executed diminished.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Multi-start modified to achieve engines being started “simultaneously”.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
3) Close before excitation functionality modified to achieve close before excitation relays
are energized “simultaneously”.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.00.2:
Include version 1.00.1.

Corrections:
1) A normally closed Vac BTB being in AUTO and ready to close but unable to do so
due to missing BA and BB voltage could block for other BTB in the system to perform
automatic closing.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Incorrect voltage reference would be used by DG(s) when synchronizing a BTB
against Mains connection(s). Phenomenon occurred when BTB was synchronizing
with DG(s) connected to busbar on one side and only Main(s) connected to the other.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.00.3:
Include version 1.00.2.

Corrections:
1) A unit being powered down/up in a power management application would take
command status from the unit holding at the given time.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.01.0:
Include version 1.00.3.

Changes:
1) Ground Relay handling updated. Ground Relay activates as DG start up and remains
activated until GB closed.
Ground relay will open again in case GB closed and larger DG being on busbar and
not preparing to disconnect has Ground Relay active.
PM compatibility compromised in respect to Ground Relay functionality.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.01.1:
Include version 1.01.0.

Changes:
1) Ground Relay handling updated. Activation of Ground Relay postponed from
activating at DG start up until DG voltage & frequency is within operating range.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.01.2:
Include version 1.01.1.

Changes:
1) Endless closing/opening of MB in a Multi-Mains application in case Overlap
functionality enabled, LTO sequence active and MB open and TB closed on a Mains
which is not supposed to run.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Ground Relay updated:
a: Hold Ground Relay active once V/Hz in range detected (avoids potential flickering).
b: When bigger DG connects to busbar it rapidly deactivate/activate the ground relay
once.
c: When a BTB is deloading secure ground connection on both side of BTB.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to these updates.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.01.3:
Include version 1.01.2.

Corrections:
1) Swap timer in Fuel Optimization priority routine was not cleared properly.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.01.4:
Include version 1.01.3.

Corrections:
1) Shifting between power management applications containing BTB(s) “on the fly”
could fail.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Q reference used in power management in island operation when doing asymmetrical
load share was incorrect.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.02.0:
Include version 1.01.4.

Corrections:
1) Mains power indication on SuperVision was always zero in case Island mode of
operation was selected.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Synchronizing last open BTB located furthest to the right in a ring-bus application
could fail. In case Mains connected to busbar on its left side and DG(s) on its right
side the DG(s) would not receive the command of performing synchronization.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
3) Capacity overrule did not work in case "Start engine" selected and mains configured
with MB and TB.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
4) GB(s) could trip in applications with Mains configured without TB. In case MB
experienced a MB close failure when performing back synchronization the
phenomenon could occur.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
5) When synchronizing BTB to external/unknown voltage source the DG's online would
not always react according to synchronization command send from the BTB.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

Changes:
6) When a BTB is configured as normally closed it will now bypass various checks
before entering its close sequence when operated in Auto mode.
7) Ground relay. Change the way the ground relay is activated.
Prioritizing is now the most significant PM-priority number instead of the most
significant CAN-id.
PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update in respect to Ground
relay functionality.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.10.0:
Include version 1.00.1.

New features:
1) Option G7 “Plant Management” introduced.
Two new product types introduced in this context:
a. Gen-set group tie unit.
b. Plant unit.
2) Menu7054 in Mains unit for enabling common cosphi reference to DG(s) expanded.
Possibility of making cosphi reference for DG(s) load dependent to hold fixed cosphi
across MB added:
a. Off (DG, Mains, Gen-set group tie and Plant units).
b. Fixed for DG(s) (Mains, Gen-set group tie and Plant units).
c. Fixed for imp/exp (Mains, Gen-set group tie and Plant units).
d. Superior (DG and Gen-set group tie units).
No backward compatibility is compromised. In fact DG(s) with older PM compatibility
versions will be able to handle if “Fixed for imp/exp” is selected in the Mains unit.
“Superior” is the setting used for taking in cosphi reference from unit placed at higher
level in the system. If for instance DG(s) are to take in reference from a Mains unit,
“Superior” must be selected in the DG(s). If DG(s) are to use their local reference the
setting must be set to “Off”. In case “Fixed for imp/exp” is selected in a Mains unit it
will seek to compensate for any DG(s) not being in “Superior” to maintain the
requested cosphi across its MB. DG(s) with older PM compatibility version will
behave as if “Superior” was selected and will therefore only use local reference in
case no reference is received from the mains unit.
3) Load profiled running hour counter added.
This counter is weighted with the percentage load of the DG. This counter is
selectable as type of running hour on which to base DG priority in menu8113:
a. Total.
b. Trip.
c. Load profiled.
Load profiled selection will not be compatible with units having older PM compatibility
versions.
4) Priority handling updated.
Now it is possible to make manually update of priorities in Menu8086 depending on
either user defined priority order or according to running hours.
a. Off.
b. Manually update.
c. Running hour update.
This is independent on priority routine selected of the type selected in menu8113.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
5) Possibility of subtracting DG(s) from Power Management system added.
It is now possible to select a Gen-set mode in menu6071 other than “Power
management” when being part of a Power Management application. When doing so
normal operation of a SingleDG will be obtained. The DG(s) will no longer be
available to the Power Management system. The Power Management communication
itself will remain intact and no alarms will be introduced in the system. No backward
compatibility is compromised due to this update.
6) Test in Island mode supported. Selecting TEST mode in a Mains unit being in Island
mode will now result in execution of a test sequence. This is only true as long as
either “Simple test” or “Full test” is selected as test type in menu7044. If test type is
set to “Load test” the TEST selection will be ignored.
Units containing lower PM Compatibility version will not be able to meet such Test
request from the Mains unit.
7) Heavy consumer functionality optimized.
Backward compatibility is compromised in respect to heavy consumer handling.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.10.1:
Includes versions 1.00.2 & 1.10.0:

Corrections:
1) Optimization of heavy consumer functionality (item#7) made in version 1.10.0 causes
the functionality to malfunction. This fault has been corrected.
Backward compatibility is still compromised in respect to older versions.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.10.2:
Includes versions 1.00.3 & 1.10.1:

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.11.0:
Includes versions 1.01.0 & 1.10.2:

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.11.1:
Includes versions 1.01.1 & 1.11.0:
**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.11.2:
Includes versions 1.01.3 & 1.11.1:

Corrections:
1) Power produced by Plant Management System could deviate from reference. The
phenomenon occurs when the power reference exceeds the capacity of the system.
With asymmetrical LS setting taken into account that is.
No Backward compatibility is compromised due to this correction.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.11.3:
Includes versions 1.01.4 & 1.11.2:

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.11.4:
Includes versions 1.11.3:

Corrections:
1) DG(s) taken out of power management and put in local gen-set mode could in some
cases effect behavior of power management system.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************

Includes versions 1.11.4:

New features:
1) Controller redundancy feature added. Presents of new option T1 in all controllers
contained in the application necessary.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.12.1:
Includes versions 1.12.0:

Corrections:
1) The resolution of fixed power reference send from the Mains unit to the DG(s) was
dependent of the power measurement resolution of the Mains unit itself. In case
Mains unit used scaling range [10-160kV] for instance the fixed power reference send
to DG(s) were in 1/10 of MW accuracy.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.12.2:
Includes versions 1.01.5 & 1.12.1:

Includes versions 1.01.5 & 1.12.2:

New features:
1) Functionality for limiting amount of nominal power allowed on busbar at a time due to
limitations of short circuit current is expanded to be included in the system logics of
DG and Mains operation. Until now it has only been supported by BTB units to
determine whether connecting to sections was allowed.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Possibility of having all BTB’s closed at the same time in a ring-bus application added.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
3) TB deload request added in M-logic.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

Changes:
4) TB synchronization will now be initiated in case the multi start forces start of too few
DG(s) to get sufficient available power on busbar to meet the power reference.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

Corrections:
5) Last 2 open BTB's in a ring-bus application could both initiate synchronization at the
same time in SEMI auto and consequently close at the same time even though
closed ring not allowed.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.14.0:
Includes versions 1.02.0 & 1.13.0:

Corrections:
1) DG not being under PMS control was still contributing to power summations used as
basis for power references calculations.
PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update in respect to take DG's
out of PMS control.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.14.1:
Includes versions 1.02.0 & 1.14.0:

Corrections:
1) LTO sequence could not be completed on a healthy mains in case another mains
was performing auto switch to it as the auto switch prevented the MB to open.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) When multiple mains present in application changing plant mode from Semi to Auto
during parallel operation (FP, MPE) could cause unexpected temporary power drop.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
3) A BTB close request where not made by the DG(s) when expected.
The fault introduced in version 4.21.0.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.

**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.14.2:
Includes versions 1.02.0 & 1.14.1:

Corrections:
1) Incorrect Q reference was used by the groups during load sharing in case
asymmetrical load sharing was enabled on group level.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
**********************************************************************************************************
Version 1.14.3:
Includes versions 1.02.0 & 1.14.2:

Corrections:
1) Under AMF applications where a second mains fail occurs with at least one DG
running, the remaining DGs are now started with a multi start.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
2) Under AMF applications where a second mains fail occurs with at least one DG
running and power cap overrule enabled, the timer is now reset (started over again)
when DGs are ready and synchronised.
No PM Backward compatibility is compromised due to this update.
3) Multi stop now initiates the stop sequence for all DGs at once.
