content that are suitable to their mental ability, Gifted children are provided with
enrichment activities and advanced content knowledge so that they can learn more that

An intervention process?
Intervention prevents, eliminates and/or overcomes the obstacles that might keep and
individual with disabilities from learning, from full and active participation school
activities, and from engaging in social and leisure activities. This intervention process
attempts to eliminate the effects of disability.
3. Fill in the following matrix with the definition, learning and behavioral characteristics of
the categories of CSN. You can add or revise the matrix when necessary.
CATEGORY OF CSN
EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDER means a disorder in one or more of the basic
psychological processes involved in
understanding or in using language, spoken or
written, which may manifest itself in an
imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read,
write, spell or to do mathematical calculations.
The term includes such conditions as
perceptual handicaps, brain injury.
The term does not include children who have
learning problems which are primarily the
result of visual, hearing or motor handicaps, of
mental retardation or of environmental,
cultural, or economic disadvantages (US Office
of Education, 1977).
1. Check and locate a public or private elementary and secondary school where CSN are
enrolled in your community. Prepare a letter requesting the school principal's permission to
visit the SPED Teacher, and request a short interview (Don’t forget to have social or physical
distancing when doing this activity). Ask the SPED teacher for information about the child/ren:
the category of their exceptionality, the causes, and personal data like their age, family
background, number of years in school and other relevant information.

teacher goes about his or her job. You may ask how he or she feels about teaching these
children. You may also ask him or her about the future of these children when they leave
school.
Teaching is not that hard because he knows how to listen. I feel blessed because I
became part of James journey in developing his skills. I believe that James future will
become successful because he is a talented child. Despite of his disabilities he still
manage to shine in everything that he do.
4. Write a report on your visit and observation of CSN. Share your findings with your classmates
in the class’s group chat.
Those children with disability, they are not hard to understand if we're going to know
them more and more . They are intelligent in their own way, they exist in the field that
they are good. Maybe, they are not that like of normal childrens but they are also living
like they are normal. They always give their best at all cost.
