Ans.: CPU (Central Processing Unit) is called the Brain of computer, it gives instructions to the
computer, it’s also known as the Microprocessor.
Ans.: A Control Unit is a component of Central Processing Unit. It used to bring information
from memory and execute instructions.
Ans.: Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) is a component of processor. It performs mathematical and
logical operations in computer.
2. The Motherboard has a slot into which the processor is inserted. It is called Processor
Socket.
4. To release the heat of the Processor, it is generally mounted on top a heat sink.
5. The function of the Control Unit is to extract information which is stored in the memory.
Ans.: Input Devices are devices that we use to put information into a computer.
Ans.: It controls video games and provides flexible movements than the keyboard.
Ans.: A Scanner is an input device that scans documents such as photographs and text pages.
Ans.: It is used to scan documents, and after Scanning it can be viewed and edited on computer.
Ans.: DVD drives act as an input device is used to read data from CD disc and DVDs.
Ans.: CD drive can read CD disc only, but DVD drive can read CD disc and DVDs as well.

Ans.: Headphones are output devices, we used it to hear the sound and we can control the
volume as well.
