THEME 1

1. Explain 3 ways how whiskers help the survival of a cat.

-Source: https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/why-do-cats-have-whiskers

i) These specialized hairs aid vision and help a cat navigate its environment, providing additional sensory
input, much like antenna on insects.

ii) Cats have special sensory organs called proprioceptors located at the ends of their whiskers. The
proprioceptors send messages to the brain regarding the position of the body and limbs to keep the cat
aware of what every part of its body is doing.

iii) Cats see better at a distance but have difficulty focusing on objects up close. Whiskers help cats “see”
things that lie right under their noses by constantly sending information to the brain. Whiskers detect
very faint vibrations caused by these changes in air currents and act like radar detectors. In the wild,
whiskers can alert a cat to the presence of prey, potential enemies, or the location of his pack.

2. What is optimum oxygen saturation? How can it be measured at

home? Provide a diagram of the device.

fda-safety-communication

Oxygen saturation, or "O2 sats," indicates that amount of oxygen traveling through your body with your
red blood cells. Normal oxygen saturation is usually between 95% and 100% for most healthy adults.

A pulse oximeter is a device that is usually placed on a fingertip. It uses light beams to estimate the
oxygen saturation of the blood and the pulse rate. Oxygen saturation gives information about the
amount of oxygen carried in the blood. The pulse oximeter can estimate the amount of oxygen in the
blood without having to draw a blood sample.

A pulse oximeter measures how much light is absorbed by your blood. This tells us how much oxygen
your blood contains. The pulse oximeter shines 2 lights through your fingertip or earlobe: one red light
and one infrared light. Blood containing lots of oxygen absorbs more infrared light and lets more red
light pass through it. Blood without enough oxygen absorbs more red light and lets more infrared light
pass through it. If your blood cells do not have enough oxygen, they will appear bluer.

3. Explain two ways how jogging can improvise one’s heart health
-Source: https://www.bronsonhealth.com/news/five-ways-running-improves-your-heart-health/

i) Running improvise one’s heart health by minimizing your heart’s workload. Because runners have
stronger hearts, they typically have a lower resting pulse rate and intake a higher amount of oxygen. As
a result, the organ can handle pumping a larger amount of blood per beat, which helps the heart
perform its job with ease.

ii) Running reduces your risk for heart disease by helps prevent blood clots in the arteries and blood
vessels. It also supports healthy blood flow, blood pressure and cholesterol. As always, it’s important to
schedule a physical and consult with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.
THEME 2

1. Make a concept map about “Bauxite Mining in Malaysia”. It should

consist of:

a) Elements in bauxite

b) Location of bauxite mine

c) 3 negative effects

d) Whether it is exothermic or endothermic and reason for your choice

THEME 3
By using the information given in the poster:

a) Find out the suitable rating of fuse to be used. Show your calculation.
b) Explain the benefit of the safety feature.
The benefits of the safety feature provided with this air fryer are it has High Speed Air Circulation
technology which prevents the oil from splashing everywhere. Moreover, it also has the Adjustable
Thermostat Temperature with overheating protection which can curb from any overheating accident
that can cause fire or electrical shock. Furthermore, the air fryer also has the Auto Shut Down Heater
which will shutdown the air fryer incase it reach alarming temperature that can cause any explosion or
fire accidents. Finally, this air fryer also has the Detachable Frying Basket which can ease the cleaning
process of the user without leaving any oil stain.
