Abstract
This research determines the effects of the New Normal caused by the pandemic
COVID-19 to a person’s mental health and physical health.
Mental health is the one of the most important thing in terms of overall health as it in
involves our emotional, psychological, and social well-being and can also affect the
physical aspect of overall health and now during the pandemic you may experience
having more time inside it may sound good though most of us sees that it is more
enjoyable spending our time outside and since the pandemic has restricted us from
doing that most of us are experiencing a sudden change in our lifestyle which may
result in either a bad way or a good way but mostly bad since a lot of us are thinking
about how to enjoy our time inside and how to ease our discomfort and cope up with
stress thus it needs a deeper understanding to properly assess someone with mental
illness as some of them are hiding the fact that they are having dramatic chnages
when it comes to there emotions.
Physical health is also important when it comes to overall health because it is the
central point of every health condition and many of us know that physical illness is
much easier to be seen as it has symptoms that can notice earlier than expected and
this result to going to the hospital and getting tested, there they can determine what
illness that you may have.
We, researches, conducted a survey. Based on the data that the researchers collected
from 30 students from Junior High School starting at the age of 13-17 had been ask if
they are having a difficult time adjusting to the new style living or New Normal and
only two of them said that they were not having a hard time adjusting to the New
Normal. We also ask them if they had experienced a sudden change in their sleeping
and eating habits and most of them said yes. Understanding this can make a huge
impact to someone’s mental state as most people with mental illness also started from
a sudden change in their lifestyle especially people with depression.
We, the researchers, conclude and give recommendations to the students, parents and
future researchers on how to prevent mental illness as much as possible. If we don’t
understand this now there can be a fatal result to our society as most people with
mental illness are experiencing suicidal thought meaning if we don’t act now the rate
of suicide will only increase. Everyone doesn’t deserve to have these kinds of
problem so comfort them don’t say anything about them as they also heed help your
actions can make a huge difference.
