GENERAL STATEMENT

The attached TOTAL EXPLORATION PRODUCTION (TEP) General Specification n° SP - STR - 533 Rev. 1 is
confirmed as the Project Specification, except as amended herein, and renumbered/reissued as specification n° RP
6340S 999 1300 0074 Rev. 5 for SOUTH PARS PHASES 9 & 10 Project. 5

This specification is defined as the so-called “Project Particular Specification” (P.P.S.).

ADDENDUM

The following items refer to the attached TEP General Specification n° SP - STR - 533 Rev. 1. The clauses set out
below shall modify or replace the existing clauses in the original specification as noted.

GENERAL COMMENTS
• The following terms which are used in this general Job Specification are deleted and replaced by :
- Engineering company by contractor : shall mean the party which has entered under a Contract
Agreement with the POGC for the design, engineering, procurement and construction of the
Onshore Facilities regarding the South Pars Field Development Project, Phases 9 & 10.
- TOTAL CFP : shall be read as POGC or his nominated Representative.
- Manufacturer : shall mean any person, firm or company which manufacture or supply equipment or
services for the performance of any item of the work.
- Work : shall mean works and / or services entrusted by contractor under the Contract with
POGC.

2. PARTICULAR SPECIFICATION
2.1 General
• Steel grade shall be API 5L Grade B or API 5L X65.

The base material of all pipes shall have a good behavior to arrest a long running shear fracture.

2.2 Line pipe Data sheet (summary)

• Refer to “Piping Classes” G03P2 and G05P4

2.3 Mother pipes for hot bends

• Pipe is not intended to be bent, so bending tests are not required.

5.1 General Requirements

• Bending tests are not required.

5.4 Pipe Manufacture 3

Add new fourth sentence as follows;
“API 5L pipe shall be non expanded, except for final sizing where cold expansion is acceptable so long as
expansion does not exceed 1.5% of pipe outside diameter.”

5.6.1 Destructive and non-destructive tests

d) Impact test temperature is given in Appendix 1
i) Pipe is not intended for reeling, so strain ageing testing is not required.
j) Pipe is not intended for reeling so bend test is not required.
k) Pipe is not intended for reeling so ring flattening test is not required
l) Pipe is not intended for reeling so longitudinal test after strain ageing is not required.

5.6.5 Induction bending tests

Induction bending test is not required (see paragraph 2.3).

5.9.5 Unit Length 3

Delete this paragraph and replace with the following;
“Pipe shall be supplied in the following lengths;
½” to 6” Nominal Diameter : single random length 6m (min. length 5.33m, max. length 6.86m)
8” and larger Nominal Diameter ; double random length 12m (min. length 10.67m, max. length 13.72m)
Jointers made by welding two pipe sections to produce the specified pipe length are not permitted.”

6. MILL HYDROSTATING TESTING

The hydrotest pressure shall be as per required in the general specification in order to get a hoop
stress of 90% of the minimum specified yield strength of the pipe material. Test pressure shall be held for not 1
less than 5 seconds.

7.2 Pipe production test and inspection

b) Impact tests (charpy V notch test)
Impact test temperature is stated in Appendix 1.
c) Strain ageing test
Strain ageing test is not required.
d) Hardness test
The reading of the Rockwell B or Vickers hardness measurement shall not exceed
96HRB or 225 HV.
f) Strain ageing test
strain ageing test is not required.

7.3 Mill certificates

Pipes shall be supplied with a 3.1. B certificate according to EN 10204 in place of DIN 50 049 std.

9. MARKING OF PIPES
e) Delete “On the outside of the pipe, at one end ------- pipe length” and replace with “Each pipe shall be
clearly identified by means of markings with indelible paint markings on the external surface of each pipe
end with the following minimum information;
- Manufacturer’s name or mark
- Steel grade
- Specified dimension (O.D x W.T) 1

- Heat Number
- Pipe Number
- Pipe Length
However, the other data such as COMPANY’S name and purchase order number shall be marked on the
material test certificate”

h) Alternatively a bar code system, placed inside both ends of the pipe, may be implemented to ease pipe
identification.

i) Manufacturing date shall be identified on the external surface of each pipe. 3

j) The following shall be noted on each pipe; 3

- R.T. where a radiographic inspection has been performed.
- H.T. when a heat treatment operation has been performed.

10. PROTECTION OF BEVELS

All pipes shall be supplied with bevelled ends and shall be fitted with bevel protectors.

11. STORAGE OF PIPES 3

Add a new fourth sentence as follows;
“Carbon steel pipes shall be protected by the manufacturer’s standard anticorrosive coating system. The
coating must be easily removed on site by brushing or cleaning with a solvent.”

12 DOCUMENTATION
b) Upon completion of pipe production :
• A pipe list with sequential numbers of produced pipes related to heat numbers shall also
be supplied.
• Pipe lists of shipments.
• Histogram data are required.
• The complete pipe history system (PHS) in CD ROM.
Supplier shall provide POGC with at least one (1) original and three (3) copies plus one (1) CD
ROM of the production report.

14 FABRICATION PIPE HISTORY SYSTEM (PHS)

The supplier shall provide Company with a computerized fabrication pipe history. In accordance
with the requirements of particular specification LINE PIPE MATERIAL TRACKING SYSTEM.
Detailed possibilities are to be supplied by Supplier at bid stage.
APPENDIX A - Referenced documents
• Applicable API Spec 5L shall be to the 42nd Edition, 2000. 4
• NACE standards shall be the following revisions :
– TM0 284 - 96
– TM0 177 - 96
– MR0 175 -97
• Euronorm / European standard
– EN 10204 - Types of Inspection Documents.
