4. Course Description
This course covers the various aspects and approaches to Study Management in an International
perspective. It examines and compares management practices of different types of organizations,
across countries and cultures. The study of comparative management requires a basic understanding
of principals of management in a highly competitive global marketplace. The course considers
management functions and manager skills including similarities and differences between domestic
and international management. The rigors management practices are being analyzed on the basis of
different cultures e.g Hofstede Dimension. The course heavily covers Japanese style management in
relation, Gulf and Western management.
b) Presentations
Students will be required to present their work progress of term report. As project work has
been into three parts, so presentations will be conducted according to the project phase/part.

Students will be assigned a specific Country and will be required to conducted a thorough
study of that country and compare it with traditional management that is normally thought in
business schools.
1. Student will have the liberty to choose the country of their choice.
2. Students will have the liberty to work on any specific management aspect/function in
detail or to work on all aspects/functions of management superficially.
3. Find out how they are carrying out their operations.
4. Student may take help of internet, any specific contact in any organization if they have.
Contents of Report
i. Country Introduction
ii. Country Culture, its customs and traditions
iii. Their ways of doing business and Conduct in terms management Findings
iv. Compare their findings with traditional ways of management and business.
v. Give your opinion (Criticism)
vi. Make Recommendation (Optional)
vii. Presentation: Share their finds with their class mates.
Each report will be 10 to 15 pages, must be typed in Calibri font (1.5 spaced), and
professionally presented to the class. The project should be around 15-25 pages including the
findings, and the recommendations.
