Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Weldments (CSWPA-WD)

The document describes the Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional Advanced Weldments (CSWPA-WD) exam. The 2 hour exam tests skills in creating, modifying, and analyzing weldment parts and profiles using SOLIDWORKS tools like 3D sketches, weldment profiles, corner treatments, cut lists, mass properties, and more. Exam questions cover tasks like creating weldment features, modifying segments, adding end caps and plates, and measuring properties. A minimum score of 190 is needed to pass, and there is a 14 day wait between retakes.

Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional

Advanced Weldments (CSWPA-WD)

Total Exam Length: 2 hours (120 min)

CSWPA-WD Exam Details

 Create a Weldment profile and save the profile to the Weldment Profiles Library
 Create a Weldment profile on the 3D sketch
 Calculate the Mass properties of the Weldment segment
 Create a Weldment profile and then align the Weldment profile to the center of
the 3D sketch
 Use the “End Butt1” corner treatment option to join the all segments to each
other
 Measure the total Mass of all the segments created
 Modify the top four segments , change the four segment corner to “End Miter” ,
add some gap between the four segments and calculate the mass of the single
segment
 Modify the corner of the three segment are mitered equally and measure the
mass of the vertical leg
 Modify the corner from the top of the vertical segment is coplanar with the top of
the other two segments and measure the mass of the vertical leg
 Add the diagonal segments with some gap to the segment to which they connect
and measure the total mass of the all segment in the weldment part
 Create end caps on the bottom open end of all four vertical legs & measure the
total mass of all the segments and end caps in the weldment part
 Create a 3D Sketch with the given parameters and measure the total length of
the 3D Sketch
 Create a single weldment feature or multiple weldment feature on 3D sketch with
End Miter corner treatment and Measure the total Mass of all the weldment
segments
 Create a vertical legs on the 3D sketch and Measure the center of mass of the
entire weldment part
 Create a diagonal leg on the indicated sketch , aligned the weldment profile
Measure the center of mass of the entire weldment part
 Create a new 3D sketch diagonal with the welment profile , aligned the weldment
profile Measure the mass of the diagonal segment only
 Create a weldment cut list folder and find the no of bodies are in the cut list folder
that contains the indicated weldment body
 Create a Drawing from the weldment part & Insert a standard weldment cut list
onto your Drawing
 Attach the cut list & Find the length value shown in weldment cut list table
 Create a weldment part with the align of center of weldment profile and apply the
corner treatment of End Miter and Measure the total mass of the all weldment
segments
 Modify the 3D sketch , Weldment profile used in areas of the weldment part &
Add extruded plates in between the weldment profile transitions and Measure
the center of mass of the entire weldment part
 Modify the sketch , weldment part and the corresponding equations with their
dimensions and then measure the center of mass of the entire weldment part

Standard SOLIDWORKS tools that may be covered in the exam include:

 Weldment profile creation

 Placing the Weldment profile in the Weldment profile library
 Basic and Advanced Weldment Part creation
 Weldment corner modification
 Placing gaps at corners and segment intersections
 End Caps
 Gussets
 Weldment Part modification
 Trim/Extend Command
 3D Sketch Creation
 Cut List Folder management in the Weldment Part
 Cut List creation in the Weldment Drawing

Total Questions: 26

Total Points: 255

Points Needed to Pass: 190

Note: You must use at least SOLIDWORKS 2010 for this exam. Any use of a previous
version will result in the inability to open some of the testing files.
