ART:

Mark Rothko, an American artist was an  abstract painter but never
definde himself as an abstractionist, said that as a person I am
pnly interested in expressing basic human emotions such as
doom, tragedy, ecstasy and so on. This was one person’s vision of
art, but what do we mean by art today?
For me the first thing that strikes my mind,is fine arts cause that’s
WHAT I AM INTO, FOR SOME HERE IT MIGHT BE LITERATURE,
Music, or even food and attimes it doesn’t even have to make
sense!!!
So you see, Art is generally understood as any activity or product done by
people with a communicative or aesthetic purpose—something that
expresses an idea, an emotion, cultures or, more generally, a world view.

The definition of art is open, subjective, debatable. There is no agreement

among historians and artists, which is why we’re left with so many
definitions of art and concept itself changed over centuries.

The very notion of art continues today to stir controversy, being so open to
multiple interpretations AND OUT THERE IT HAS has many colloquial uses
TO IT.

BUT AT THE END OF IT in this world dot.com & doubt.com I would like to
stick with the Edgar Degas’s definition that is “ART IS NOT WHAT YOU SEE,
BUT WHAT YOU MAKE OTHERS SEE.”
Beauty:
First thing first, that popped in my head was the very famous quote,”Beauty
lies in the eyes of the beholder”
But don’t worry, I wouldn’t blabber on the same old philosophical stuff, of
“Beauty comes from within, It isn’t about the physical attributes” Noooo
I am going to talk ona rather sensitive issue, the beauty standards that we
have in our minds today
So tell me one thing, How many of us really stick to this ideal idea??Well, TBH
even I’M NOT SURE ABOUT THIS, CAUSE, in this era of digital advancements &
social-media we cannot deny the fact that we are already the prey to certain
beauty standards ingrained in our subconscious minds of what is beautiful and
what is ugly!
In particular, men and women have found themselves battling identity issues due to the
unrealistic beauty standards set by what they see on social media. Many have developed
serious mental heath issues and even body dysmorphia trying to emulate the beauty
standards that are simply unattainable.
And I think its high time we need to reflect on these toxic ideas and be more pragmatic and
accepting of our’s as well other’s flaws. And create a rather healthy world around yourself by
dumping these toxic social norms ,starting at an individual level.

Books:
First thing first, that popped in my head was the very famous quote,”Books are
our Best companions”
If u are alone, you can take up a book of your choice and taste it and very soon
you become a part of it. Books on travels and adventures are not exactly
informative but quite exciting. The biographies of great men like Lincoln and
Gandhi are sorces of inspiration. It is never too to late to enter the world of
books. The sooner you enter the better it is.
And definitely It is pertinent to say that!
The poet Robert Southey has beautifully called books his never failing friends with whom he
converses everyday.
Books enlighten, give knowledge, entertain and inform us. Whether we read books printed
on paper or telebooks, their importance can never be denied. They fill our minds and hearts
with hope and joy in our good and bad times. Writers like Tagore have put forward to us
their life on a platter to understand their goals and teachings. When we read books, we are
in the company of the best and the noblest minds of all ages. They enrich our minds. Books
are a storehouse of knowledge. Books often provide a person with the ability to judge
between right and wrong and the courage to follow the righteous path. Books indeed
provide a pleasurable company and prove to be a trustworthy and lifelong companion.
