Sample Size and Sampling Technique

For the purpose of the study, the population of the study is all Grade 12 Senior High

School in NDU. The sample size of the study is 75 students from five sections per academic

strand; five students will be selected per sections. However, the 75 students will be selected

based on availability and accessibility of the respondents.

Stratified random sampling technique will be adopted for this study. Population of the

study is divided into a number of strata in which each stratum will give the true

representation of the population. Academic strands are use in dividing Grade 12 SHS

students, which is the population into three strata. The academic strands ABM, STEM, and

HUMSS are use to divide Grade 12 SHS into three strata where five sections are selected

from each stratum. Simple random sampling is however will be use to select five sections

from each stratum due to the reason that students in each section per strand are the same in

characteristics and the topic they are studying. A total number of fifteen sections will be

selected to form the sample frame from which the sample size of 75 students is selected.

The students will be selected from the chosen section based on their way of living.

The students are stratified into students who live with their parents, family relatives, or by

their selves. This strategy will enable the researcher to solicit views from all categories of

students.

who belong to the academic strand will be chosen to answer the produced questionnaire.

When the researchers already identify the specific respondents who will answer the

survey questionnaire, schedules will be set. Also, during the official gathering of data, the

respondents will be given enough time to answer the questionnaire. There will be an

estimated of 75 respondents who will be given survey questionnaire. After that, papers will

be retrieved and the information provided by the respondents will be checked if all the

necessary information are filled and answered. The data collected will be soon analyze and

tabulated.

Statistical Treatment

The study will use descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage and mean.

Frequency and percentage will use to analyze the profile of the respondents. While the mean

will used to determine the level of financial literacy and the impact on the monetary

decisions.
