“THE UNVANQUISHED MAESTRO”

ANTHROPINO DYNAMIKO - PART 1

Welcome to Part 1 of HR-PR, pertaining to the Best Manager Genre

You are the HR manager of XYZ company. The company deals in the production of
sanitizers and other sanitation products. It is a 5-year-old company which has managed to
gain a good reputation within a short span. The company follows a vision towards the
qualitative and the quantitative improvement of the organization and its people.

The company, however, is facing repercussions of the second wave of COVID-19 and
thereby, leading to unending consequences and unresolved problems.

XYZ company has a panel of 5 departments, which deal in the different genres. As the HR
manager of the company, you have two tasks at hand-

1. Solve the problems of each of the five departments, within 100 words.
2. Conduct the process of recruitment and allocate applicants to the 5 departments (2 each)
along with an analytical one-line justification. Along with it, you would also have to
mention the important characteristics that would be listed under each department, from an
HR point of view.

A Google form will be sent to you.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 You will get a duration of 40 minutes to complete this round.


 The departmental rounds are not interrelated to each other but it's only linked to the
general company profile. Hence, solve accordingly.
 Participants are expected to procure and maintain a stable internet connection along with
a working mic and webcam for the event. We are not liable for connectivity issues from
your end.
 In case of any disputes, the decisions of the organizing committee will be final and
binding.
 Adherence to the unparliamentary language will strictly lead to the disqualification of the
respective participant.
 Make sure the deadlines are maintained. There would be negative mark for the breach of
deadline.

DEPARTMENT

Department 1- Accounting and Finance


PROBLEM - XYZ company has taken a loan of rupees 50,00,000 @ 9% per annum, just
before the pandemic erupted. Since the pandemic, the company has been in a difficult
position to pay back the loan within the stipulated period of time.
How would you convince the creditor to extend the repayment deadline by 4 months?

Department 2- Research and Development


PROBLEM - XYZ company deals in sanitizers and other healthcare products. The demand
for such products has been on an uprise due to the current conditions of the pandemic. The
demand has surpassed the supply to a very great extent and it does not seem to come back to
an equilibrium because of the perpetual occurrence of the situation.
How do you plan on managing your resources (both human resources and physical
resources) within a short span?

Department 3- Marketing
PROBLEM - The reach on social media for the XYZ company has suffered due to lack of
marketing avenues. One of the Major sources of sales for the company has been social media
marketing and our sales have crashed in the past year due to these perpetual problems
because companies have managed to attract new customers through social media marketing
during lockdown and our company has not. The company does not have enough funds to hire
expensive graphic designers and content writers, hence our pages have become inactive on
social media.
What marketing avenues do you plan on introducing to survive in the competitive
environment and how do you plan on hiring content writers as well as graphic designers?

Department 4- Purchasing
PROBLEM - Keeping in mind the urgency of the demand of the product, the purchase
department increased its purchase inconsiderably in a short span of time due to the surge in
demand. However, due to the development of the vaccine. the demand came to a lower scale
in recent times thus leaving behind a lot of inventory.
How do you plan on disposing off the excess inventory within one month?

Department 5- Corporate Communication


PROBLEM- Due to the increased demand of similar products in the market, the prices of
inputs have increased inconsiderably. The company has been facing a setback and has not
been able to acquire inputs at a reasonable rate. It has been suffering losses and the goodwill
of the company has been falling down.
How would you innovate your product and provide incentives to attract more companies to
supply resources at a reasonable rate?
