Suggested Activitiesabc (September)
Examples include:
How can one achieve excellence?
Which of the core values that we have
do you mostly apply in virtual classes?
Why?
HOW:
1. Split the participants into groups and show
each the list of questions.
2. Let them work for 15-20 minutes in
answering the questions provided. As they
progress, they will discover core themes – or
values – that we want them to learn. Ask them
to write these down.
3. These key values will be the basis for their
groups’ manifestos. Once they have listed the
values they discovered, let them share it with
other groups. Do you all identify any similar
themes? The guiding question here is: Which
of these values are most important to you as a
group?
4. Give them another 15-20 minutes to discuss
on the following questions to be able to design
and create their manifesto:
What actions line up with those core
values?
What can you do to live or embody
those values? And finally,
Which are you willing to commit to?
After this exercise, each group will have a
manifesto of value-driven actions that they
are willing to commit to collectively. Examples
might include “Be curious, open-minded, and
inquisitive,” or “Turn ‘problems’ into
‘opportunities’.”
2. Values In Action Brainstorming What To Do:
(For Teachers-in-Charge)
Prepare some Values Cards – these are simply
blank cards with the school’s core values
written on it.
HOW:
1. Split the participants into groups and show
them the cards with the values written on
them.
2. Have some representative from each group
tell a story about a similar
experience/problem to which they can relate
the core value presented.
3. Representative from a different group will
then offer a practical solution that is based on
that value.
