This semi-detailed lesson plan aims to teach students the difference between regular and irregular shapes over 50 minutes. Students will learn to differentiate between the two types of shapes, draw examples of irregular shapes found in environments, and cooperate in group activities like arranging tangram pieces. The lesson will begin with reviewing polygons, show pictures asking students to identify shapes, and have students form shapes in groups from cut out tangram pieces. Students will then analyze the activity by discussing the shapes formed and giving examples. The teacher will define regular and irregular shapes, discuss their characteristics, and provide examples. Finally, students will identify irregular shapes in illustrations and draw examples of both types of shapes for assignment.
