Experiment-7 - Norton's Theorem

This experiment aims to verify Norton's theorem using a DC circuit. The circuit diagram shows a primary circuit and figures for measuring the short circuit current (ISC) and Norton resistance (RN). Equipment such as a variable power supply, resistors, and multimeter are used. The theoretical RN is calculated and experimental ISC and IL are measured. If the IL values from the primary circuit match those calculated using Norton's equivalent circuit, then Norton's theorem is verified.

a) Variable D.C. power supply d) Connecting wires
b) Resistors R1= 50Ω, R2= 100Ω, R3= 150. e) Project Board
f)
Vs=70Volt and RL= 200Ω.

c) Multimeter h)

5. EQUATIONS:
RN=(R1||R2)+R3; IL=(ISC*RN)/(RN+RL)

6. EXPERIMENTAL DATA TABLE:

7. RESULTS: If the value of IL in primary circuit data and in Norton's equivalent circuit experimental data (both measured
and calculated) are same, the Norton's Theorem will be verified.
