Executive Summary
Kimbich is a fusion of Kimbap and Sandwich. Its goal is to share

to people the taste of another culture. They don’t have to go abroad just to

taste kimbap of Korea and sandwiches of Japan. The owners are ready to

serve the curios minds of people. The mission is to serve the products in

affordable prices in a very reasonable quantity. The business promised to

serve delicious and healthy snacks. The owners will do their best to be one

of the best stall of food at the Business Expo. The business will surely

succeed for it serves food that bring them new taste.

The creators of the enterprise, Kimbich, are Grade 12 Science,

Technology, Engineering and Mathematics students studying at Honorato

C. Perez Sr., Memorial Science High School. As one of the

accomplishments to one of the contextualized subjects of Senior High

School, Entrepreneurship, the curriculum’s objective is to produce

scientifically, technologically and environmentally literate individuals. The

Business Expo was the key to the fulfilment of such course. It was

engineered for the students to present their skills outside the four-cornered

classrooms and experience how the business industry goes regardless of the

track.

It was held at the campus gymnasium of Honorato C. Perez Sr.

Memorial Science High School. Since it is being decided that the expo will

be held at the main campus, we thought that it is much better than the other
idea of having the expo at St. Arcadia campus. It was better that it was held

at the main campus because there is a higher probability that the product

will be sold out.

We've come up to the idea of making a product that is delicious,

affordable and healthy at the same time. It is perfect for the students since,

they need to eat healthy foods to become healthier and their money is

limited so we decided to sell our products at the lowest price of Php 5 per

piece.

The products that we agreed on selling was sandwiches and

Kimbap. The chicken sandwich is made of high quality chicken breast, tasty

baked pan, a good quality of mayo, pinch of salt, black pepper and sugar.

Anoter variety of sandwich is the fruit sandwich, one of the customer’s

favorite, that is made of finest quality of mango and banana with a tasty

cream made from all purpose cream, condensed milk and gelatine. Kimbap

with a combinations of exciting flavors of spam, egg, carrots, tuna and crab-

stick that is wrapped by fresh seaweed and cooked rice. Dipped it with soy

sauce will bring the taste more. It was said that all of them are good and

they have differences when it comes of their goodness. The goodness of the

sandwiches is that they are nutritious and affordable for students while in

Kimbap, it shows how delicious was the product and it has a great impact to

the students knowing we are colonized with the Korean foods.

Our proponents are the other emerged two groups in the class

section, Eiffel. Which sums up to the total of nine entrepreneur in this one

business. Our target market is all the junior students of Honorato C Perez

Sr. Memorial Science High School, as well as the faculty and people in the

campus.

In the expo we expected that the other groups will be making a lot

of profit out of their products, and we were not surprised about it cause,

really, their offered food products are delicious. They can managed their

business properly, they can manage the finances and also they are good at

advertising. They used social media like facebook and instagram to

advertise their products. They also are very competitive in handling there

business. They treat their customers as they were close friends but in a good

way. Entreprenuers could see that we all tried our best on selling our

products in a different ways.

For one day of the school-based simulation of the mini-enterprise,

the initial investment of each owner, Php 175 was returned with Php 215 at

the end of the day. The business simulation of the entrepreneurs in the

school lasted for seven hours and it can be stated that it can grow the start-

up money.

In the school-based business simulation, given that there were a

lot of other enterprises around the area, the entrepreneurs started out with
giving out flyers that informed the students about the products being offered

and their prices. Once the entrepreneurs opened up the enterprise, it started

to attract a lot of students. Kimbap and sandwiches were two completely

different types of food, but it was enough to catch the students’ attention

with the sandwich’s familiarity and the kimbap as a refreshingly new

product to the target market. Managing the risks and competing with other

enterprises are not easy, but with the proper evaluation and testing, it can

lead to success.

The Market

KimBich wants to establish a regular customer base, that is why

we need to market and advertise our products to Honorato C. Perez Sr.

Memorial Science High School students who are the main target of this

business. KimBich is a combination of Korean food, Kimbap and a

Japanese sandwhich. Korean and Japanese culture are always in trend in our

country. A lot of teenagers are interested to experience the culture of other

countries especially in food, therefore our product, KimBich, will make

them feel it by tasting it.

Products

Our business offers kimbap but with a twist like adding tuna and

luncheon meat instead of the typical kimbap that are sold in the market. In

addition to that, we also serve sandwiches. It is consisting of vegetables and

a spread. The kimbap costs 5.00 Php each and the sandwiches are sold for

7.00 Php.

foods that are unhealthy and that will directly compete to the products sold

at the school canteen.

Probable Risks Of Business

Since the business will start and end shortly, we are a little bit

bothered. In business we ca assume that a business is successful when it is

earning a lot of profit and interest and to succeed, entrepreneurs and

business men need at least 3 months or so. One of the probable risk is the

time since we only have less than a day it is a risk since we do not know if
our products will be sold. And the other probable risk is the money, in

business it is known that money is everything, but to be able to gain money

from business you need to study and do some analyzation, for us it is a risk

cause we do not know if our product will be loved by the students at

HCPSMSH.

Over-all Reflection

Individual Reflection

Chua, Sam Eunice S.

Datu, Beverly Jane L.

The bazaar went well, in that I had a lot of fun and time went by

really quickly. The first thing we had to do was negotiating with our

members on what is their perspective, what would they suggest on selling

the product, what product is the best way on easily selling it. We all agreed

that we’ll name our booth “KimBich” it’s because of the combination of

kimbap, which is korean food that is very popular in the Philippines and

Sandwich, which is popular and familiar to us with a different stuffing. We

learn the prices of each items that is needed, which we bought from the

Public market and WalterMart. March 12, 2018 (tuesday), on this day, we

prepared all of it, I can say that it is stressful but we can manage it. After we
finish and prepare to serve for the students, we all stayed and answering any

questions any customers might have, and being alert if anybody was

interested in buying the item. After 5 hours, I helped to pack up the icons,

clean the table we were in, and left. The activity was a lot of fun because

there was a lot of people there and there was always someone to talk to. We

sell our products very quickly and thank God, they liked it.

I really liked this experience, because it gave me a sense of how

difficult it truly is to sell things inside of school; also, it will happen that I

will have to deal with many different types of people; from the students that

is not kind of a talkative person to our school mate that we’re aren’t close

but given us a chance to talk through selling our products and I’ll say it

gives me a valuable lesson that I could carry through my future. A lesson

that I will take with me from this is that a smile and politeness can go a long

way with strangers, and that is why it is very important to always be nice.

De Leon, Jhian Blue DG.

In preparing the product, the business entrepreneurs used

materials in making kimbap such as nori wrap, glutinous rice, rice, egg, soy

sauce, carrots, luncheon meat, tuna, spinach, and crab sticks. First we

prepared by cutting the carrots and luncheon meat into strips, separated the
leaves of the spinach, cooked the egg and rice, and steaming the spinach

and crab sticks. After that it is rolled using a sushi mat and we cut into

pieces. It is put in a container. We managed to make 250 pieces of kimbap.

In the day of the bazaar I got to school early so we could prepare the design

of the table where we are going to place the product for the customers to

see. After that we have to advertise the product by spreading fliers to those

who are walking around the gym. The kimbap is sold for 5 pesos and the

sandwich for 7 pesos. At first there was no one buying. So I and my

groupmate started to walk around the gym to tell the students about our

product and guide them to the location of our stand. We also talked to the

students we know telling them to buy kimbap and sandwiches. Also to

spread the word about our product. I teamed up with a fellow student who is

selling drinks. Because you need a drink if you have food. At around 10:30

all of our product was sold out. But our group members made a 2nd batch to

be sold by lunch. They brought an additional flavor. It was sold out pretty

quickly, because I heard from customers that it was really good. I could say

that handling a business is pretty hard especially when you don't have a

plan. As a group every member should know their responsibilities to avoid

making mistakes and for the business to be successful.

Erive, Erika P.
Marquez, Junellee Marie V.

We’ve done everything on Monday, March 11, 2018. First, we

discussed at my place about the plan for the Business Exposition. We also

had a meeting on when and where to buy. We decided to buy the fruits at

the wet market for it is cheaper, and the other ingredients at WalterMart for

it is fresher. At that day, the mayonnaise and lettuce were already bought by

Johna because she bought it at their wet market.

We arrived at the wet market. We canvased first but not enough,

because as soon as we bought the mango, we found a less cheap and good

looking one. But then what is done is done, we just thought to be positive.

The mangoes that we bought were bigger than the cheaper one. After

buying mangoes, we looked for bananas. And we found no problem buying

them. Now that we finished buying fruits, we walked to WalterMart to save

money. The chicken breast looks great, we are convinced that they are

fresh. Then we looked for the ingredients for our cream which are all-

purpose cream, condensed milk and gelatin. We had a hard time deciding

what to buy. We consider the quality, brand, taste and price.

After buying all the needed ingredients, we went home to start

making our food. We planned to do the chicken sandwich first because

some of the ingredients of fruit sandwich needs to be chilled. First we boil

the chicken, and after a few checks we still boil it until it became really

tender. While that was boiling, we prepare the breads. We cut and flattened
it. After the chicken was ready, we drain and tear the chicken in smaller

pieces or in Filipino term, we “himay” the chicken. Next was we prepared

the spread. Mixing the mayonnaise and chicken, although it was a mistake

that there was a lot of chicken but it was a good mistake because the spread

is not unfair or “madaya” which may lead the costumer to think that we

didn’t decided to be thrifty. After the chicken sandwich were all assembled

and done. We started making the fruit sandwich. We cut the fruits and

create the cream. Layer the bread, fruits and cream in a tray like how you do

a crema de fruta. We are having doubt that the fruit product will be firm and

also if it will be sold.

The following day, the members gathered at my place to check all

the sandwiches and also help me with the materials to be used at the stall.

What I did was prepare the materials and print the flyers. Then we also

check the fruit sandwich, the worst was experienced. It was not firm. So we

decided to freeze it this time until lunch, we the hope it’ll be firm by then.

We started panicking when we are told to come after 15 minutes for it is

8:00 am at that time. We successfully arrived at school and found out that

we were the only one without a table or anything. It was funny and

interesting for me. Like what are we going to do? But in the back of my

mind, I knew there will always be a way. So even if it is late the table still

came. So we started decorating. I was in-charged in making the banner.

Sometimes my members stressfully asked me on what is the next thing to

do. They were panicking, I thought. While, I am relaxing doing my thing.

And so, there was came a point where we should cater the customers while

we are still designing or fixing the stall. First problem we encounter in

marketing was the lack of loose coins to be given as a change to the

students. Good thing, there were tricycle drivers willing to exchange our

paper money.

Our chicken sandwich was slowly sold but I was thankful it was

sold, partly because of the popularity of the Kimbap. We finished selling the

chicken sandwich and Kimbap faster than others. After lunch, we bought

the fruit sandwich in our DIY cooler box. It was a weird idea of my father,

but we were left with no choice because there are no cooler present. When

we arrived at the gym. Our other members are not present and yet we have

to sell the product as soon as possible. Johna and I had never market yet, but

we have to now that time. So we started selling, with also the help of Erika,

we succeeded. The funny thing is that most of our customers were just

Eiffel students. Which makes us even more comfortable to sell.

In the end, all negative thoughts are just thoughts. Everything

could have a way. This experience is very interesting for me. It is new. I

gained new experience and new knowledge about myself and the world. I

was thankful that this opportunity happen.

Masibay, Johna R.
This whole experience was something I wasn't used to. I did take

part of some food booths in the past but I wasn't as hands on during the

previous compared to now. It was both fun and nerve-wracking, because I

enjoyed the whole process of it but I was also nervous about how it will turn

out.

We finalized everything on March 11, the day before the business

expo. We decided on the ingredients that we were going to use and then we

set off to the public market and the mall to buy our materials there. I have to

admit that we didn't get the items in their cheapest prices but I'm thankful

that we did have quality items.

It took us hours to prepare and decide on how we wanted our

product to taste. We were all unsure about our fruits sandwiches but we just

hoped for the best. I really got focused on the process, making sure that I

wouldn't mess up anything for me and my group. I was thankful for my

groupmates because they made the process of making our sandwiches fun

and not boring at all.

The morning of the actual business expo, we checked on our fruit

sandwiches. They didn't turn out as we expected so we placed them in the

freezer and hoped that they will firm up by lunch time. Hopefully, we'll get

to sell our chicken sandwiches by then. We were surprised when our

products were easily sold out by the students, considering that we were just

around one hour in the selling process.

Around lunch time, we got out and picked up the fruit sandwiches

to bring to the school. We were happy that they finally firmed up. We were

happier when people also bought them and enjoyed how they tasted. Over-

all, it was a happy experience that I wouldn't forget.

Micla, Pauline Andrea T.

Creating a business is like a gamble that you need to trust yourself

or the people who are your partners on the business you are creating and

that you are risking something for it to grow. Planning, it is one of the

exciting part of it, you are using your creative mind to have a unique but

will surely help you stand up to your competitors. In detail, we decided to

name it "kimbich" for the reason that it is collaborated with a sandwich and

a kimbap. we bought the ingredients for us not to risk more money for the

reason that it has a lot of things to do before finishing a certain product. In

addition to that, right after we arrived in the campus, our place was already

crowded, we did not expect that it will be really popular and will be the

taste of the day. With just approximately 30 minutes of standing in our

location, we already sell our product together with our partners who sells

sandwiches. It was really a great experience having a business and to be part

of Business Expo, and with the thought of students or the customers telling

us that our product is delicious and if there are still left nor stocks they

would really love to more.

Ordeniza, Crizea Kate N.

On March 12, 2019- Tuesday we did our activity in

entrepreneurship called "Food Expo". At first, we are a bit bothered because

this is our first time to do this expo properly like we have business plan and

the likes. We need to execute the business based on our proposed business

plan. The whole expo is a blast we did a lot of effort to be able to achieve

our goals.

The before the expo, we did the marketing for the making of our

product, we buy bread pans, milk, bananas, mangoes, chicken, mayo and

lettuce. After that we made our product.

During the food expo, we prepared the products that needs to be sold and

we go to school early that day for further preparations.

For me, the highlight of the whole expo is not just about selling

products or learn how to do a business to make a large amount of money.

For me, thus experience is about improving your human-relation skills that

include: good communication with your group mates, participation and

cooperation and the way you suggest ideas that comes up into your mind.

Academically, we did it for our grades but this whole expo taught us how to

be patient, calm and comfortable in doing business. Plus, our group maybe
not "the best" group but, we did a lot of effort and we help each other to

perform well in thus expo.

Villanueva, Ivan Kaycee S.

This activity "business expo" is one of the most enjoying activity

in my senior high school life and also it is challenging because it is my first

time doing something like that my groupmates asked me to be the one in

charge in selling and advertising our product to students i gave out fliers

and asked students to buy our product kimbich kimbap and sandwich

luckily I am good at communicating and interacting with others, but before

all that we prepared our product we bought our materials in wet market I did

not like it that much because it is kind of smelly and the floor is wet and it is

hard to find a parking spot we bargained and bought ingredients that we will

need then after that we go to Sam’s house and prepared and make our

product we made like 200/250 pieces of kimbap it is my first time

making something like that it is fun but our group faced a lot of problems

because some of us doesn’t know how to communicate or they are hard to

contact that’s why before the food bazar the other groups are preparing but

our group is not yet complete that is why some of us are pissed but it all

paid off because our business is a success within 3 hours we sold out this

experience taught me a lot and it is fun.
