We were assigned two report subjects to study, identify applicable case laws, and complete a
proper study around them.
In the preceding study, I expanded my knowledge of the Indian constitution and the
fundamental rights it gives to individuals, as well as how these fundamental rights
were interpreted by citizens and the Indian Supreme Court. Fundamental Rights are
individual rights, and without them, democracy is worthless. Fundamental Rights
cannot be violated in all circumstances. Without Fundamental Rights, a society cannot
evolve or function properly. Individuals are granted fundamental rights primarily
against the state because the state is widely regarded as the most egregious violation
of individual rights.
