DA20 Freezer / Fridge Door Alarm with Adjustable Delay
Installation Instructions

The DA20 needs to be installed on the edge of the freezer or fridge where the
door opens, not the hinge side. Usually the best place is on the side at the top.

With an upright freezer or fridge, if you


don't have room on the side, you can
mount it on the top. Be sure to put it on
the side where the door opens, not the
hinge side.

STEP 1: Once you decide where you will mount the DA20, clean the surface of the door and side of the freezer or fridge where
the unit will be located. Make sure the surfaces are clean and dry before proceeding to step 2.
STEP 2: Remove the protective paper backing from the adhesive on the bottom of the magnet.
Be careful not to let the adhesive surface touch anything. Leave the paper on the main unit
until you have found the best position in step 4.

STEP 3: Carefully stick the magnet on the door of the freezer or fridge as close to the inside edge of the door
as possible. Keep in mind that the DA20 main unit needs to be located close to the magnet.

switch 1 and 2 on, but the other time switches off, the total delay is 15 seconds. With 1, 2, and 7 on, the

Test Your Timing: In order to check the timing adjustment, hold the Delay 10 sec 2
main unit up to the magnet (or close the door if installed) for about 10 Delay 20 sec 3

Operation:

After you have completed all the steps of the installation, you can test the device as follows (factory defaults).
A) Open the door and keep it open. You should hear a short beep when you first open it.
B) After it has been open for your selected time delay, you should hear a pulsing beep.
C) The pulsing beep will continue until you close the door.

If the beeping doesn't stop when you close the door, you have probably mounted the main unit too far away from the magnet. When
you open the door, a "chirp" indicates that the battery is OK. If the chirp becomes higher in pitch, or the low battery warning
activates, then the battery needs to be replaced.

The DA20 makes setup and operation easier than ever before. Using the mini screwdriver provided,

BUZZER BEEP or SOLID: The DA20 has the ability to make a pulsing “beep” or a solid tone. When the (Siren Soft/Loud)

BUZZER ON or MUTE: In its standard form, without the DA20 Siren accessory, the final dip switch

option allows for the alarm to be muted. When muted, the buzzer makes no sound after the delay
timer ends. The LED continues to function as normal, providing a visual cue, and the initial chirp is
made (depending on whether that feature is turned on or off ). When the dip switch is in the off
position the buzzer works as normal, and when in the on position it activates the mute function. ON

With the DA20 Siren accessory - SIREN SOFT or LOUD: The DA20 offers a siren accessory for locations
with loud ambient noises (industrial, warehouses, etc...). When connected, the siren replaces the
internal buzzer alarm, and changes the function of the final dip switch. Instead of muting the buzzer,
it offers a softer volume or a louder volume option from the siren accessory. Factory default is off
(softer).

DA20 Accessories:
The DA20 is a standalone unit, but it offers two accessories to increase its effective uses. For more information, refer to the
webpage, or contact us for unique customization requests.

DA20 Siren: This external siren provides extra volume for those requiring it. Using the siren with the standard battery power is
perfectly fine, but be aware that it increases the drain on the battery. The siren provides 86db @ 1m (3 feet) in the SIREN SOFT setting,
with 95db @ 1m (3 feet) in the SIREN LOUD setting. Note: Every 3db represents a doubling in volume.

DA20 Power Supply (North American/Universal): The power supply accessory allows for the use of
the DA20 without the need for batteries. It’s mostly used in situations where the DA20 Siren has been Model DA20
