PHY1999–INTRODUCTION TO INNOVATIVE PROJECTS

DIGITAL ASSIGNMENT 1

FACULTY : Prof. Rajan Babu

1. Unearth 10 strengths on which you will work on and 5 weaknesses which
they will try to get over.

 The strengths on which I will work :

1. Negotiation skills:
This is a personality feature I've lately discovered from interacting with
people and being put in similar situations. Nonetheless, I hope to improve
in this area as a result of additional exposure and experience.

2. Smart working:
There is a fine line between smart working and hardworking. Hard work
is simply described as putting in long hours to complete a specific tasks
but Smart work is finding effective and efficient ways to execute the task
while managing time and quality. I will have to work smartly in order to
finish a job efficiently.

3. Communication skills:
One of my major assets is my ability to communicate effectively. It's not
just about being able to talk fluently; I also need to be expressive and able
to explain my thoughts to people clearly. I'll work on improving my
listening skills so that I can communicate more effectively.

4. Brave :
I am adaptive in some situations, but not all. Although I am not afraid of
change, the consequence can occasionally bring me down. I should be
able to process the situation and approach it as a challenge that I can
shape my way through. This will be really beneficial to me in the long
run.

5. Patience:
I'm prone to losing my cool. Dealing with situations under pressure is
quite difficult for me. Because I'm impatient, I'm prone to making poor
decisions. It appears that I should begin practising meditation and
breathing exercises. They will instil in me peace, steadiness, and the
ability to concentrate.

6. Logical Thinking:
Every problem has a solution, and if you think logically, you can easily
fix any problem. I should observe, evaluate, and then develop conclusions
based on the data, which will help me become a logical thinker in the
future, allowing me to make better decisions. This can assist me in
making crucial decisions, solving difficulties, coming up with creative
ideas, and setting goals.

7. Body Language:
Body language is extremely important because it accounts for the
majority of how we interact with others. The truth is that we are always
talking with others, even when we are not speaking. I should be mindful
of my body language like gestures, expressions, tone, and appearance.

8. Trust:
To be honest, I don't have a lot of faith in people. The current generation
does not deserve to be trusted. However, I can only advance in my career
if I am trustworthy. I should begin to believe in others.

9. Judgment:
Learning, listening to others, and seeing the world around me have all
helped me develop good judgement. The judgments which I make in life
can make or break my career. Hence, I have to be cautious. It also enables
me to make sensible choices, determine reactions and responses, and
make sound life judgments.

10. Leadership skills:

Leadership abilities will benefit me in all facet of my job. Being a leader
is never easy, and you should have a diverse set of abilities to succeed. In
an ever-changing workplace, I should be able to communicate effectively,
motivate a team, manage duties, listen to feedback, and solve problems
with flexibility.

 The weaknesses which I can overcome:

1. Hesitation:
I hesitate in confronting others. Somehow I feel, I might hurt the sentiment
of the other person or may be I am over-reacting in the situation, and leave
the confrontation part.

2. Planning:
Sometimes I leave things half done and I won't have any clues on how to
finish them when I come to them. Being unorganised can lead to a lot of
problems. This usually puts me in a dilemma.

3. Focus:
I lose my focus easily because I am an active person. I can't concentrate for
long periods of time. There are numerous distractions all around me that I
am prone to succumbing to.

4. Over and Under confidence:

When I know something, I feel overconfident; when I don't know
something, I feel under confident. It has the potential to influence my
decision-making as well.

5. Overworking:
I find myself accepting new work without completing previous tasks;
overworking may be my weakness, so I must work smarter. To maintain a
healthy work-life balance, I must learn how to draw lines between work and
personal life.

2. Existence of ‘Blind Self’. How to reduce the ‘Blind Self’. Draw your
tentative Johari windows- depicting present and future status.

 Blind self or blind spot :

The information about a person that is known by others in the group but not by
the person himself. This could also be referred to as a lack of knowledge about
oneself or delusory difficulties. Individuals or groups will not be able to be
effective or productive in this environment. The goal is to decrease this region
by seeking or soliciting feedback from others, so increasing the open area, or
increasing self-awareness.

 We can reduce the ‘Blind self‘ by following the points given below :

A. People should make an effort to enlarge their open, free spaces while
decreasing their blind, concealed, and unknown places.

B. Seeking feedback about blind region will decrease the blind area while
increasing the open free space.

C. Request others to share what they think about you (the effect of your
activities, things you do that others appreciate or don't, how you go over,
and so on)

D. Converse with an advisor or a guide who can evaluate you and give an
impartial assessment.

E. The blind spot will be reduced by careful communications, attentive

listening, and experience.
