INTRODUCTION
Printing press,
machine by which
text and images are
transferred
to paper or other
media by means
of ink. Although
movable type, as
well as paper, first
appeared in China,
it was in Europe
that printing first became mechanized. The invention of the printing press itself
obviously owed much to the medieval paper press, in turn modeled after the ancient
wine-and-olive press of the Mediterranean area. Metal presses began to appear late in
the 18th century, at about which time the advantages of the cylinder were first
perceived and the application of steam power was considered. By the mid-19th
century, Richard M. Hoe of New York had perfected a power-driven cylinder press in
which a large central cylinder carrying the type successively printed on the paper of
four impression cylinders, producing 8,000 sheets an hour in 2,000 revolutions.
The rotary press came to dominate the high-speed newspaper field, but the flatbed
press, having a flat bed to hold the type and either a reciprocating platen or a cylinder
to hold the paper, continued to be used for job printing. A significant innovation of the
late 19th century was the offset press, in which the printing (blanket) cylinder runs
continuously in one direction while paper is impressed against it by an impression
cylinder. Offset printing is especially valuable for colour printing, because an offset
press can print multiple colours in one run. Offset lithography—used for books,
newspapers, magazines, business forms, and direct mail—continued to be the most
widely used printing method at the start of the 21st century, though it was challenged
by ink-jet, laser, and other printing methods. Apart from the introduction of electric
power, advances in press design between 1900 and the 1950s consisted of a great
number of relatively minor mechanical modifications designed to improve the speed of
the operation. Among these changes were better paper feed, improvements in plates
and paper, automatic paper reels, and photoelectric control of colour register. The
introduction of computers in the 1950s revolutionized printing composition, with more
and more steps in the print process being replaced by digital data. At the end of the
20th century, a new electronic printing method, print-on-demand, began to compete
with offset printing, though it—and printing generally—came under increasing
pressure in developed countries as publishers, newspapers, and others turned to online
means of distributing what they had previously printed on paper.

MARKET POTENTIAL
Flex printing is much in demand today because outdoor advertising is popular means
to get across the people. That’s the only method through which one can do offline and
physical marketing. Flex printing is a profitable business venture. Flex and banner
printing is increasing in India, the growth is happening at a steady pace due to the
heavy rise in demand. It is the mode of advertisement that will never go out of fashion.
Outdoor and indoor advertising both require flex printing. There is growing demand
from major metro cities across India such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata,
Chennai, and Hyderabad. Most of the customers for flex printing business are from
regional and national political parties. These banners are required by these parties for
setting up programs and rallies on a regular basis. Flex printing is the only way of
outdoor media advertising that is similar in lines to digital signature. Apart from bigger
companies and educational institutions, sports organizations, etc. also require political
parties, flex banners there is huge market demand for such banners. They are cost-
effective means of advertising for companies with fewer budgets. Other institutions like
schools, sports organizations, and educational universities schools require flex banners
for their events and activities. There is a good amount of domestic market for such
products.
Doing flex banner printing is a good business and the Promoter is running a Printing
Press under the name M/s Ane Abo Printing Press at ‘P’ sector, Itanagar, Arunachal
Pradesh. Due to increasing demand of printing the promoter is trying to buy a new flex
printing machine as the old ones are not enough for the printing matter.
The proposed project is to buy a new Flex Printing Machine for M/S Ane Abo printing
machine that is situated at ‘P’ sector, Itanagar Arunachal Pradesh papum pare District.
The promoter wants to buy a new Flex machine for her printing press as the old ones
are not enough for printing as the demand for printing is increasing. Lots of people are
opting for banner printing or pamphlet printing to advertise their business or events
that are to be held, making the demand for printing increase.
However, we also offer traditional foil blocking in our own ‘blocked’ typefaces or from
a foiling ‘die’ (bespoke metal printing plate) made from customer artwork. More foil
color options are available with this process and many other materials can be foiled, e.g.
leather, leatherette, rougher/textured surfaces, material etc.
Bookbinding
It goes without saying that The M/S Ane Abo Printing press is at the forefront of
bookbinding, including bespoke document binding, the online binding of theses and
dissertations, book repair and restoration.
