Strengths, Interests, Values Reflection

Part 1: Do What You Are

Complete the Do What You Are survey in Naviance. Use your report to answer the questions

below.

1. What is your personality type?

My personality type was ISFJ when I got my Naviance results. When I looked up ISFJ, it is called

the nurturer. The acronym ISFJ means I serve my family joyfully. ISFJs want to believe in the

best of people and have a rich but hidden inner world. The most recommended careers for

this personality type is clergy, interior decorator, librarian, nurse, and office administrator.

2. What does each aspect of your personality mean about you?

The test said things about my personality. For example, I’m introverted, which means that I

am typically a quiet, reserved kind of person, not seeking much social interactions. It also said

that I have a lot of feelings and judgement.

3. List two strengths indicated on your report. Give an example from your life that

demonstrates that these qualities are strengths.

The two strengths that are on my report is feeling, meaning I am motivated by work that is

meaningful. The report also said that I Judge, meaning that I enjoy work that allows me to

make decisions.

4. What qualities should a career have in order to satisfy your particular personality?

My career should probably require me not talking to a lot of people or doing a lot of public
speaking since I’m introverted. I would also prefer not to be in a job where I have a lot of

pressure on me.

5. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?

I can use this information to make an informed career choice by cancelling out ones that may

be more for extroverted people. It can help me make wise decisions for the future. I can check

the requirements for the job I’m looking at and see if it aligns with me.

Part 2: MI Advantage

Complete the MI Advantage survey in Naviance. Use your report to answer the questions

below.

6. What are your top three intelligences?

My top three intelligences are linguistic, musical, and naturalist.

7. What do these intelligences mean about you?

I think the intelligences mean that they’re the things that I do best at or are interested in.

8. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?

I can use this information and see if a career accurately represents what I want to do in the

future. I can also identify what I shouldn’t do easier.

Part 3: Career Interest Profiler

Complete the Career Interest Profiler in Naviance. Use your report to answer the questions

below.

9. What are your strongest interests?

My strongest interests are artistic, enterprising, conventional, social, and realistic.


10. What do these interests mean about you?

It means these are my biggest traits that I need to look at when picking a future job. The jobs

that I was recommended in my results were jobs that are more related to humanities, such as

an artist.

11. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?

I can look at my top characteristics and see what kind of job will suit me best from there.

Part 4: Work Values

Go to www.onetonline.org. Under “Advanced Search,” select “Work Values.” Review the

description of each work value. Select three work values that are most important to you.

Answer the questions below about your work values.

12. What are your top three work values?

My top three work values are achievement, relationships, and working conditions.

13. What do these work values mean about you?

These work values show what I value the most and what I should research about a lot

specifically before picking a career. Achievement, meaning I want to achieve a lot of different

things. Relationships, meaning I like to make relationships with other people. For working

conditions, I like working conditions I can work comfortably in.

14. How can you use this information to make an informed career choice?

I can use this information by narrowing down on career choices I should make for my work

values and personal interests. I can also decide on what to do and what not to do for my

future career.
