Using your own words, recall and explain the difference between ;

(a) power, authority and influence, and

Power and authority is greatly different from each other but influence is somewhat similar to
power. Power unlike authority has the ability to command a person with just persuasion and other
means to influence the action of another. On another hand, in authority the right to command or
excercise power comes from a legal right. In power the ability to command other does not follow any
hierarchy so it depends to capacity of a person on how far he can command the others. However, the
legal right to command other in authority comes from the position in an heirarchy of an organization
which means the higher you are in the organization, the more power you have base on legal rights.

Influence may be similar to power but there is still difference. Influence greatly depends on the
persuasion of a person on how much it can affect the decision of others unlike in power, other means is
use to affect the action of another like offer of rewards or use of force. I also think that charisma greatly
helps in influence which makes it easy from people to be affected by the action of a charismatic person.

(b) state and nation.

In a State there are four elements that must be present at all time to be able to exist. These
elements are population, teritorry, government, and sovereignty. A nation can continue to exist without
a fixed teritorry or government. It is because a nation is a community of people which of formed on the
basis of similiraties like languange, ethnicity, history, or culture. It is a strong bond that connects people
in a nation. On the other hand, A state is a teritorry which is recognized internationally and governs all
the things inside its teritorry. It has its own institution and people. Personally, I think that state is
bounded by laws and authority over its own teritorry and people while a nation is a unity of people that
share strong bonds which led me to think that the nation is the people itself.
