1. Dr. Musomi is a Public Health Specialist with a wide experience in the
administration of health services as well as programme management, monitoring
and evaluation.

2. Current Executive Director of Tumaini Brighten Holdings and Tumaini Brighten


Medical Services in Embu, Kenya.

3. Worked as County Executive Committee Member (CEC) /Minister for Health in


the First Embu County Government. Facilitated development of the Health
Strategic Plan and directed the new health system development including modern
infrastructure and state of the art equipment. Attended Cabinet meetings (Embu
County Executive Committee meetings), Many meetings on devolution in Health,
Trade, Gender and Social Services.

4. Worked as Regional Outreach Programme Manager/Medical Services for African


Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF) based in Kenya and taking care of
a Regional Programme involving over 164 hospitals in eight countries of eastern
Africa (with many stake holders including County Governments ). In Kenya
alone 60 hospitals and Districts were involved in different Outreach projects.

5. Worked as a Regional Management Advisor for Health and Social Sector Support
Programme, Namibia-Finland development cooperation, Kunene and Oshikoto
Regions, Ministry of Health and Social Services, Namibia (with many stake

holders including county government).

6. Worked as a Technical Advisor and Deputy Manager with GTZ, an International


Health and Population Organisation implementing Family Planning and related
Reproductive Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Kenya (with many
stakeholders).

7. Worked in Botswana as a Public Health Specialist/Senior District Medical Officer


at District and National levels (with many stakeholders and working with
county government).

8. Worked as Regional Coordinator for Kavango Regional Health Management


Team, North East Regional Health Directorate in Namibia (with many
stakeholders and working with county government).

9. worked in the Ministry of Health, Kenya at different levels as a Medical Officer,


Medical Supt, HIV/AIDS Programme Epidemiologist and Family Planning
Programme (from district to national).

10. Experienced in different planning methods including Strategic planning

services for African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF). Based in Nairobi,
Kenya and managing a Regional Medical Outreach service covering a total of over 164
hospitals in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, Rwanda, Somaliland
and Dr. Congo. Coordinated Outreach work in partnership with Ministries of Health,
University Teaching Hospitals, Outreach Hospitals, Faith based Organizations, Hospital
Management Teams, District Health Management Teams and Provincial/Regional
Health Teams. Fund raising, planning, reporting and coordinating donors and partners
with an average budget of US$ 3 – 4 Million annually.

initiatives in four pilot districts in Makueni County which have accelerated uptake of
the elements (ANC, FP, Skilled delivery, Post natal care, Post abortion care and STD

services in 17 safe motherhood districts (training health workers in FANC, EOC, CTU;
equipment etc) in East Africa, 9 of the districts being in Kenya.

In 2009 to 2010 - Facilitated and participated in the development of Health


management guide book for developing countries (by Dr. Francis Kimani, DMS, MOH,
Kenya).

In 2006 to 2008 - Facilitated and participated in development of different guidelines


used by MOH services in Kenya (Guidelines for improving health care services,
Hospital supervision tools and Hospital self evaluation standard tools).

2008 to 2010 - Organizing Chairman for Pan African Anaethesia


Conference/Symposia hosted through AMREF Outreach Programme under my
leadership (June 2008 and August 2010). Presented a paper “AMREF Outreach
Flying Doctors Model” during the conference.

From January – August 2010 - Organizing Chairman for International Society of


Fistula Surgeons (ISOFS) conference hosted through AMREF Outreach Programme
under my leadership. Presented a paper “factors contributing to low uptake of maternal
health services in Kenyan safe motherhood pilot districts during the conference”.

of Agriculture and Technology Student on “ Social and service delivery factors
associated with compliance and outcomes of Tuberculosis treatment in an Urban
