Broken Disk in 7mode

This article discusses how to find failed disks in a NetApp storage system. It provides several commands that can be run directly on the NetApp filer to identify failed disks, including disk show, aggr status -r, and sysconfig -d. It also notes that the filerview interface and checking the physical disks for amber lights are other options to locate disk failures. The article concludes by stating that the storage system was not affected by the failed disk due to RAID-DP redundancy and that a replacement disk will be installed.

How to find out failed disks in NetApp

Filed under: NetApp — Akther @ 8:20 am

Tags: Failed disks, Netapp

In this article i am trying to explain how we can find out failed disks in netapp. We had a hard disk
failiure in one of the storage box recently.

First option: Filerview , Here we can easily see the faild disks information.

Check the Netapp box physically ( remove the case in front). can see the amber light of failed disk

Below are some commands we can find out the failed disks

Filer1 > disk show

Filer1> Aggr status -r

Filer1 > Sysconfig -d

Filer1 > vol status -f

And finally because of RAID-DP it didnt affect us. Waiting for the delivery from Netapp to replace this
Hard disk.

Thanks
