I. The impact of COVID-19 Pandemic

1. _________________: people are expected to follow health protocols e.g. wearing of masks,
social distancing, frequent hand washing. Etc.
(the facilitator may opt to ask the students to share their knowledge or
observations);

2. __________________: loss of jobs, increase in unemployment;

There are reports of people dying because of hunger-no jobs to sustain their physical needs
such as food

3. __________________: increased cases on depression, anxiety and trauma; more reports of

people taking their lives all over the world

II. Best fit practices which can be used to cope and live through the crisis

1. ____________________ therapy
∙ based on two Filipino words:
∙ “___________”, Kapampangan term for “come”
∙ “____________”, Filipino term for “create”
∙ How: challenge one’s self to be flexible and creative at this time of crisis

identifying home tasks that can be carried out.

∙ The term is based on three Filipino words:
∙ “Lam-______________”, Filipino term for “showing fondness”
∙ “Bi-________”, Filipino term for “joke”

∙ Showing fondness, giving a light touch or sharing a joke with the people around us is a way of
lightening the atmosphere brought by a crisis

-When we give or receive expressions of fondness, share jokes or give or receive light touches;
our well-being is positively affirmed.

3. 8 “H” therapy

∙ H_______ sa air: flying kiss
∙ H_______ greeting; has proven to have a positive effect to a persons’ well being
∙ H_______: humor- laughter is the best medicine
∙ “H__________ lang”- resolve to remain positive amidst crisis; positivity H___________: touch
∙ Giving H________
∙ H_________: one of the best ways to lighten up one’s mood and perspective in life
4. F’s therapy
∙ Sharing of F________- a very Filipino habit; limited to home activities ∙ Sharing of F________;
even when Filipinos do not have much, there are those who go out of their way to still give aid
∙ F_________ and f_________ support: being connected does not always involve physical
contact
∙ F_________- has always been identified as a Filipino strength, his/her relationship with a
Supreme being

5. ______________________ therapy
-listen to music or dance to a beat to release emotions and negative thoughts

6. ______________ of Acceptance
-we are mindful that life involves changes, uncertainties and challenges (The facilitator may ask
the students to give examples for these)

7. _________________________
- being under quarantine does not mean zero exercise, we can always go up and  down stairs
(if our house has), do stretching, jog in place, do sit-ups, etc. - it is important to continue to take
a breath, slow down and get more oxygen

8. __________________
-reflect on experiences and get insights
E.g. from the current crisis we can see that human life is fleeting
